epoxy benefits from a raised temperature postcure, how much depends on the resin system used. Generally a stronger glue than polyester, which tends towards the 'brittle' particularly after exposure to uv. Kevlar would be ok in a moulded fin, you cannot sand it without it fluffing up, so you cannot h...

Hi Skansand A comp weight board could be glassed 2 oz all over, maybe some patches under where you push up with your hands. This would still be much more rtesistant to pressure dents than a regular weight PU. Sub 2kg is easily achievable in a 6ft board, and still have it last longer than you are use...

Crox Thats a very interesting approach, and one that will surely only work on a kneeboard (standups eat your hearts out!) Must have been a bit of a bitch to glass and sand that 'butt crack'! It will be interesting to see how the 'hinge' area of the deck stands up to repeated flex cycles, maybe some ...

Don't think the waves are as good as Jersey, and the water quality can be suspect, as they refuse to update their treatment facilities!

Lowrider, That is my original and in some ways my favourite, good in up to head high, very wide tail, fairly loose for a board with low tail rocker, but still holds well on a steep face. Had a few modifications since that photo, so has gained a bit of weight (still no heavier than a std board (new))...

Hi Guys, glad you like the site. Lowrider I am sure that Bert knows how to convert pu/pe measurements into compsand! If anyone does then it will be him. I would be very interesting to see what he comes up with. One thing is sure, it will be very light and very strong! In very basic terms, thinner an...

Hi Lowrider, from what I can gather, Bert is setting up a production facility in Thailand. He can probably be contacted through his website

www.sunovasurfboards.com

Don't know if he has done any kneeboards, would love to know if you can get him to do one.
Cheers

Not totally kneeboard related, but any of you guys who are interested in composite sandwich board building should have a look if you haven't already. As far as I can tell, I think I am the only kneeboard builder actively involved in the site and it would be great to have some more of you 'free think...

Have taken Glucosamine for 3 yrs or so, use the emu gel after exercise, I am sure it quickens the recovery time. Can't do any harm though (except to the emu's!!)
