Well there are floaters and then there are sinkers. Not all wood floats!! The heart wood floats but the sap wood sinks, sometimes it is a battle as to which one it wants to be. When standing in the water waiting for a lull to paddle out, you must look behind you and up the beach for logs dislodged f...

Surfed a whopping 54 times this year (once more than last year). Didnt have any away trips, except to the coast many times during the summer for some fun beachbreak action. Late spring was very good, but I think early fall was the best. And have had 4-5 days, late fall, that were really good way OH+...

Good one on you Jerry, congrats on the move up!! With you going away.. I wonder where the next closest kneeboarder will be. I know I am a whole state further north, but my point is pretty good also. I hope that I dont start boasting and selling pics, just to try getting another one around. Do you ha...

I wear the O'neil 5mm Heat Round Toe year round with XL Churchill Makapuu fins (size 10 feet). The fins are cut off straight so as to not give too much advantage with the footies. They are real comfortable and the velcro around the top keeps the water out, even though I wear then inside the wetsuit....

Any automotive trim adhesive will work and can usually buy it in a little spray can at WallyWorld/AutoParts store. Get it dry and clean of wax, use a solvent or even gas on a rag. Spray the adhesive on a cereal/cardboard box and apply with a q-tip with the tip cut off. Large areas can be masked with...

Always had low 5' boards back in the day until I get a 5-10 which was real long then. During the early 80's I was riding 6-6 and 6-10 kneeboards. They were alot narrower than current boards at 21-22 wide. Needed the boards for the waves I was riding and to handle the currents and such. Now with the ...

Re: reversing your churchill fins

.... IT WORKS GREAT. It probably is my imagination but i could swear they are even more efficient now, and they are more comfortable to kick with. I would advise against wearing them on the wrong feet unless you live in a perfectly flat concrete world. If the long tip on the inside catche...

Had a really large Killer Whale cruise through the lineup yesterday. Was real large and the dorsal fin must have been at least 8 foot high. My buddy I was with yelled something about a big splash and when I topped the next wave I told him it was a killer whale. I turned and he was half way to the be...
