A 5'7" is about right for what you want to accomplish, the only suggestion I would make ,would be to keep it around 23" wide or more ,and fairly thin 2.25" thick. Ron keeps his boards flat across the deck so thickness is distributed across the width of the board. I'm gonna be spending...

Well, the way I see it (some may agree, others may not) do you like what you ride? Do you like the way you surf? Do you enjoy your water time?
do you care what others think of the board you ride?

Then do what you want, and don't get caught up in trends.

My turn my turn. I surfed at PV Indicator with Wes this last winter, some waxes were WAY over 20 on the faces and yes I mean Way over, any way Wes rode a 5'8' X 2" THICK CHIP OF A BOARD, Eric Peterson rode a 5'8"X 2.5" thick both of those boards were 22 wide I rode the big board of th...

I ride nothing but Romos boards, the board you describe probably has the fins back, 6.5" and 12.5 to the back of the boxes. If it paddles well for you ,you should be fine with what you are on. If you like his boards, he and I came up with a fish design that I have personally ridden in 20'++ fac...

I can attest to the dificulties of the change from fins back to fins forward. I have ridden Romanoskys' boards forever and have worked with him start to finish on most all of them. He and I have come up wuth some very functional fins forward designs that have been a collaboration of both of our idea...

Wayne, when it comes to Wedge, I feel the same way. I like to ride there on occasion  but the bodysurfers should have the right of way.

Bill, I always thought you were invincible, no? Glad you are ok,the ribs are a painful bunch, but as healthy as you are, you will be back out there in no time. I cracked 3 by a board to the back at wedge some years ago, so I feel your pain. On a lighter note, does this mean I can fill in for you in t...
