Re: Anybody tried kneeriding the mass market short/wide surfboards?

they are super flat rockered grovellers suited for 2 ft waves, with the rider jamming on the back foot a fair bit. might be ok in 2 ft waves, but i imagine they'd be utter crap as a kneeboard in decent waves. however, you never know till you give it a go. king waka has vidoes of him been riding one ...

an island in the middle of the pacific, it must pick up lots of swell. plus, there are plenty of fighter jets around. stick one in the carpark and instant offshores!

you mean regress to standing up.
if you want to stand up, just stand up. it's not hard. a couple of days and you'll have the pop-up under control. kneeboarding isn't a transition phase.
just remember, the left foot goes at the back, right foot at the front.

welcome frost. you're a brave and hardy soul to be on the east coast and even thinking of surfing at the moment! you need a kneeboard to to ride on your knees. as day mentioned, people sell board on here all the time. most kneelos are pretty dedicated. that means they buy new boards regularly, makin...

My anthem: "I'd surf a toilet bowl if it were break'n!" With all due respect, of course  you would have loved sydney in the 70s and 80s! sewage outfalls all along the beaches! one break, a kneelo favourite at maroubra, is still called the dunnybowl. http://www.aquabumps.com/wp-conten...

welcome to the kneelo world, professor. sorry to hear about your osteoarthritis. if you find that a standard kneeboard doesn't allow you to just use fins, then maybe have a look at guys that ride paipo-style boards on their knees, such as the late Captain Bud Scelsa. all the best. http://legless.tv/...

that's how i do it, knee pushing down on the tail. but i do more damage to my knee than the board. i also compress the rails where i grab it to duck dive. maybe you could add a tail pad, that might lessen damage to the tail. but i find the tail pads really cut up my knee when duck diving and don't u...
