well say what you will about surfline but i use it all the time for spots all over the state. The advanced features are very good and I have found it to be very accurate. It nailed a baja forecast as well nailing conditions up and down the state over the last six months. You may hate it but I use it...

flown Taca several times no problems yet. They limit you to two boards and they have always check my bag upon check in. I have a three board bag I use then pack each board separately in a padded day bag. If they let me take three then it would actually be lighter.

Its a little late but I got Jalama on tuesday afternoon. sweet HH and glassy little beach break peaks with about 10 or so out, just north of T's; stayed out until 5:30 pm or so. Just a gorgeous session. What was remarkable was as I was driving south on Highway I just past the the Jalama turn off I s...

Sunday OB, nice and solid OH+, fairly consistent. Solid paddle out just to remind you that you need to start getting into better shape. Large rolly sets major crunchers on the inside, keeping everybody on their toes. A little too much tide but still fun to be out in some decent size again. Sprocky r...

Have not been able to post for awhile but just got back after nice little surf with SFkneelo on a nice sand bar just south of Noriega. A bit textured, but consistent shoulder to head high+, plenty waves to go round. When I paddled out SF had already been in the water for two + hours!. So happy summe...

We are currently planning a Hawaii trip feb 16 - 24th as well but it is likely not the NS for most of that time. Wife says two times in a row NS and wants something different, this time around. Seems to be pretty keen on seeing molten rock so maybe i will be in smokin's territory. I going to try and...

I will consistently ride either 6' or a 6'3" at OB most of the winter. 6'2" 210 lbs. Not that many wankers though, they usually can't make it out.

Looks like a new south may be on the way for the weekend of 24th (7-8 feet at 18 secs). I am heading heading Mazatlan (a new spot to check out) 23rd to 27th because airfare deals are great right now from the bay area ($368 rt). Been researching breaks, plenty of sweet ones if the right swell is runn...

Access to Cronkite Beach

To all northern California surfers. I just found out about a new transportation plan for the Marin Headlands. In a nutshell the park service wants to eliminate vehicular access to Cronkite beach for a few days per month mostly on weekends. Build a new parking lot about 1.5 miles from the beach by th...

Being fairly new to kneeboarding, basically started doing it consistently in 1998. I say I do enjoy the contests because I get to put faces to names on this site. Also the better riders inspire me to push myself. Face it, most of the contests are primarily social gatherings for bragging rights. Thou...

I will weigh in here. I have both aussie boards and american boards. The thing I have noticed with some of aussie tri fins is the same thing that Paul has noticed. When you are in the right position and on it, the boards rock. The boards are not that forgiving of bad body position etc. to the less t...

Question for southern baja vets. Is Cabo worth a quick 3 to 4 day trip. I have heard mixed things about the breaks. Zippers is good but crowded, shipwrecks can be fun etc. Todos can be good as well. What have peoples experiences been?

Fin cramps, I find that being well hydrated helps but the biggest reason I get cramps is because they are too tight. I use fin socks and get my fins on the large side. I also use fin leashes. Wearing booties with any kind of sole is usually a recipe for cramps. When the fins are slightly loose I fin...
