Got some nice ones was out position for a few head high ones, oh well; tide filled in, crowd got to me so I left with a nice, short sess...

Bud, Thanks a whole lot. I look forward to the info. Its been bleak here lately, big, stormy out of control, dreaming about and beginning to set up a summer time trip has been the best diversion/procrastination this month. I decided Gland is next on the list and I have enough time to earn the points...

Gland insights wanted
Gland has always been on the list as a must surf wave. I am looking into making a trip in early/mid Sept. I have a ten to 12 day window. I have a few of questions for the experienced? 1. What is the best surf camp? (coldest beer, best massage, and best beds) 2. Is there a better time based on tide r...

he paid for not pulling in watch how he gets sucked over the falls because he didn't penetrate low enough through the wave. If he grabbed the rail and really pulled on it would he been able to tightened up the bottom turn? pull higher onto the face gain speed and make the section. It must suck to ha...

CS my schedule is flexible but I am afraid the weather may not cooperate. storm fronts are forecasted to move through every few days. Saturday may have a window and then its likely that only Santa Cruz will be surfable. Sizeable swell as well. Surfline was calling for 10 foot in SC, OB will likely b...

desperation surf at OB this afternoon. Weak head high, 10 sec interval at least was excercise and a nice day. Every now and then an early arriver of the forecasted swell would swing in. Sat afternoon has some possibility but then rain and wind is forecasted for much of next week. January was epic at...

I love my stubb. I ride it all the time in overhead surf. eight foot faces on in coming tide with a somewhat soft rampy wave face, its the call. It paddles so well and fast it can get into slow rampy waves much easier. When it starts to get more vertical and dredging then its a bit sketchy. When I t...

An idea when entering the water in dicey rock jump off situation. Why not wear a thin nyon belt with small fastex buckle. When entering the water strap the fins to the buckle around your waist, jump in, paddle out, pull fins on surf reverse the order when you come in. Boy would you look like a kook ...

Been catching the bars off of Sloat the last few days. They are in the best shape that I have seen in awhile. Setting up quite nice on a medium tide with a 5 to 7' @ 16 secs swell running. Sizeable A frames with decent paddle channels. Low nearshore winds have been making for clean conditions. If in...

Face it, flippers give us an advantage. You might call it an evolutionary advantage. As the surf industry grows and more and more folks take up surfing, breaks are getting crowded. Fins help you stay in position, catch waves sooner, and generally allow your average fit person a great advantage. If y...

Jose and I surfed OB at Sloat late sunday afternoon. It was classic. We checked VFWs looked solid but little shape. We decided to drive the beach and stopped at Sloat. Low and behold! The outside sandbar was peeling A frames with a 5 knot offshore breeze. Air temp was high 40's with decent windchill...
