Train like a maniac. For those like me over 60 and stuck inland, swim 1 mi 3x/week, bike 3X 15 mi/week (or 30-45" @ 250W indoors), and do core workouts to keep the back and abs strong. Like Jimmy V said, never, never, never give up..........

Scott, My deepest condolences on your family's loss. I had the privilege to meet Mark once, in South Florida, and see his spoons. He connected immediately with my wife and I, partly through our Lutheran background. Although he was already ill, he was still drawing energy from his love of kneeboardin...

Thursday was a magic day, warm water made it for me. Long green walls and few tubes. Wish I could have stuck around for the evening kneelo gathering session.

Just back from a long weekend in Sea Girt NJ (where I first knee'd an inflatable surf mat around '58 or '59). Two fun surf sessions in a chest high swell and offshores. Sand was plentiful due to Hurricane Sandy beach "renourishment", and the swell was a steep peaky southie, that lined up o...

Rod,
Off subject a little, but
send your friend to Scott Busby at Natural Art in Buxton. He has shaped a decent number of kneeboards now (mostly for his ageing friends) and took some dimms from our boards when Landlocked and I were down in April.

Xcel 3/2 with a layer of Hyperflex Poly fleece underneath does it for water down to high 40's here. The hyperflex adds warmth, cuts chafing, and seems to really help when there's a cold wind. I also use the Hyperflex poly socks and glove liners.

Luke, I'd echo what nmac said, Nags head south is usually best bet (Rodanthe & south best). If you can't get that far down see if you can hit Sandbridge (south of VB) to escape the crowds. If you can use the boat to surf, you have access to the VA Eastern Shore north of the Chesapeake Bay, with ...

My wife just had anterior hip replacement in August and we are amazed at the recovery time and results. This surgery uses a hydraulic table and surgery is performed through a small incision with no muscle/tendons cut (see YouTube video)(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwi0i1EtbpI). She was walking t...

Agree with Landlocked- the SmartWater seems to work, with a banana or potassium supplement. Avoid coffee and any other diuretics if possible (good luck with that!) BTW discovered that "Nursery Water" or "Baby Water"sold at pharmacies is the same as Smart Water (distilled water pl...

The stoke and fire I get from this site on a daily basis is irreplaceable. I have no idea why kneelos are such great photographers, but the level of photo quality is heads above most other sites. Congrats and please keep it up!

Barry B turned me on to Stay Covered when I bought a board with similar dimms from him a few years back. Nice folks and good prices.
