1st place, heat 28 for Pat. Semis tomorrow at 720!

Got another update on Pat, first in round 23, going to the quarterfinals at noon.

I was hoping for some sort of updates as well. All I've gotten was that Pat Evans (my brother) took first in heat 5. His next heat is over as of right now but no text messages.

Oh hell yeah, us City folk love the Chicas... I start school on the 27th of August though, not sure if I'll be able to swing a trip to the OC in Sept. More time than money on this one. Thanks KEL. I logged in for the first time in over a month to try and find the same info. Not sure if I'll be able to fly out for this once since I'll be out in August for a wedding and starting a Ph.D. program in Sept., but it's worth a try...

Day 1 is complete. The crew did their best with what was there - knee to chest high and generally weak. On the positive side, it felt like a summer day with temps in the 70s and little to no wind. Looks like it worked out that I'll be in California for this. Just don't know if I'm going to enter the contest. Haven't kneeboarded in 10 years at least. Don't know if 1 day of practice will get me up to my full potential for contest surfing. Will definitely be down with my brother to cheer him on,...
