Sorry Kev Bear
Aaahhhhhh...... Shaunsey......... Kevi Bear was not in the grand masters but the senior masters :-) Whoopsies - sorry Kev - aging you - and you look far too youthful to even be in the senior masters. Thanks for the heads-up on the boo-boo mfox. Either way, Kev Bear ripped, for a man who rarely ride...

What about Kev
Yes Red and also worthy of a mention is Kev Fisher, donning his flippers for some rare kneeing and smashing all comers for the Grand Masters title. He reckons he has only kneed twice this year, rides a standup mostly. I told him he threw his stick around impressively. His reply "You never forge...

My first contest
Great picture you've painted, Simon. I wasn't even aware of the drama unfolding at Flynns on Sat, but I was amazed how far the contest pushed through the low tide. I have never seen Flynns that low. As for the rip at Woolamai, it really is full-on. I have surfed Wooly for a long time and you do lear...

Kboard Big Surf
There are a multitude of reasons that kneeboarding in big surf is not oft discussed in this forum. 1. It doesn't get big very often 2. Big wave surfing necessitates more equipment, preparation, time etc etc 3. It is difficult to ride big surf on kneeboards - because of our arch-enemy chop - means co...

Top guys not wearing them
Baden wears flippers - and he is the most successful kneelo competitor in history - so it doesn't make an iota of difference to your surfing ability - and the drag thing - well can't say I've ever noticed that - I just hate lugging them around and people asking me; "What do you do with the flip...

Re: vfv
markem. in the great search of the majestic, magical flying carpet(s) it does nothing to hold on to that which is metophorically and physically over your head in design and construct. the better thing for your soul and the health of ones aurora is to release that which doesn't sing to you, from the...

Red is onto it
Sometimes I wear flippers, sometimes not - and I can stand up wearing them but its a bit awkward. But as Red says - I can surf for longer than anyone I regularly surf with when I wear flippers - because I can give my shoulders a break. Even with flippers it would be over 95% shoulder work. But that ...

My first spinner
Let me elucidate the good KB public on my first spinner -as I promised I would try. At VBay (The boys from the rock know where) - 3 ft semi-critical reform - tried the bottom turn halfway up the face variety. Well around I went - it was OK- kinda fun - but I don't think I've been missing anything. W...

Hard to fix
Lots of kneelos shift around on take-off to find the sweet spot - its just that once my stance is established, I don't move - theres so much going on when you surf - its hard to concentrate onanything other than riding the wave. My standup mate told me that a slight adjustment in arm position during...

Same toofast
I don`t understand the goofy foot thing when it comes to KBing. But for me, I have no problem going either way. I don`t mean for that to be a cocky statement. But what I do notice is that when I go left, i`m more aggressive. When I go right, I can do stronger power moves. I have surfed with other K...

Thanks for being such cool guys - I should have expected nothing less from kneelos.

Hmmm
Maybe because I surf at Phillip Island I rarely surf tiny slop - so haven't developed any grovelly mush-moves. I really think that is an issue for Island surfers - East-coast OZ kneelos seem to perform much better in smaller powerless surf than the Vicco guys. I'm gonna go for a spinner ( when no-on...

Wow thanks a lot
I to have that slight left knee forward stance - I can see when I look at the knee depressions on my boards. Its almost negligible but definitely there. I must try the "switchknee" stance on both lefts and rights - and see what difference it makes. Its hard to adjust these things especiall...
