My injury was not from kneeboarding, it was work related and I had a piece of tissue about 3/4 of an inch long by 1/8th x1/8th of an inch torn and floating around in the joint. A fairly large piece which as an Electrician by trade became a problem when the tissue would fall back into the joint whils...

Knee surgery

I had a torn meniscus taken out about 18 years ago as the torn tissue was falling into the joint and locking the knee, the next day after the injury was x-mass eave and the ER doctor got the nurse to hold my ankle while he pushed down on my knee and straightened my leg (with no pain killers, it was ...

I'm running GAM's with GS trailers in my Tuck Classic Diamond tail Quad, the same as my thruster, after trying larger (mrtfx's) I found the GAM's are looser & now it rides more like my old Tuck's from the 80's a bit of controlled slide when I want it in mushie waves

A mate had a parkes similar design and hated it I took it out one day in a punchy beach break about 3' and loved it. But I agree with different boards for differnt conditions thats why my latest Tuck has a slight rocker ,slight single concave into V in the tail,Quad. It paddles like a Mal and planes...

Talking about chine rails, Dave Parkes made me a board back in the 80's with chine rails and a diamond tail, funny how fashions do 360's, retro idea's CAN be incorperated into a modern style board. My mate has a Neil Luke "Freak" and can't stop telling me how much he loves it

I was thinking three tips about 10" maybe a bit wider at the tail, with a quad fin set up, aussie style of course, probably 5' 10" , 5' 11" about 23" - 24" by 2"-2 1/2"

Tail Shape ?

I'm thinking of getting a new board, I know I want a quad and thinking about something like a Parkes clasic diamond tail like I rode back in the 80's, but also considering a Bat Tail, something completley different, has anyone tried one? What do you prefer? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I agree Budgie, Ive tried a set of Soar TFK fins which are very similar to the MR fins, but I found the same result. I like a bit of controled slide,so I have opted for a GAM with a much smaller GS centre fin set 26 cm from the tail. I also think that rails need to added into your fin calculation, m...

I also started in the late 70's and I also had a couple of mates into kb's, I tried a Moray Boogie first then a stand up but found the KB was a nice mix between the two. My first kb was an old Jackson scooped out stinger style single fin, man I loved riding that board but alas it came to a premature...
