2 months is downright criminal. I took mine in for some work last Sunday, (longboarder had his board wrenched out of his hands trying to duckdive in front of me when I was paddling back out - crunched the back rail on my fish  ), and just got it back as good as new this morning. Felix at Sando...

It's back!!

My board was in the shop for 2 months :( . The shaper was overloaded with repairs and new orders, so this has completely motivated me to learn how to repair boards. I never learned how to do it bc of an irrational fear of screwing it up but I just got my board back last weekend and I totally missed ...

I dinged my new board = (

The surf here today is nothing to write home about - shoulder to head, and really messy with West winds making everything all sideshore. But 2 of my friends were heading out, 2 guys that I love surfing with, so I went along. It was fun, but really tiring, lots of whitewater and currents to punch thr...

Well, today was en epiphany, because today I figured out how to keep my nose from corking too much while wearing fins. It was a knee to waist high day today with light offshores and really sunny, so I headed out with fins in hand. And yes, I bought a XXL pair of Neofins (the one with the 100% neopre...

Ride fatty boards, and buy clothes that are in the "surf bum of the month" baggy style.

That way, you'll never gain weight, and always feel like the athlete like you were 20 years ago. Works for me.

I love banana pancakes.

Re: I was wrong but now ?

O K Iwas wrong not completly like when you try and argue with your wife girlfriend or mistress ,but enough to make it harder on myself .I get theories and sometimes i apply them to a new board ,but i did not consider the most important factor and while i could say my theory held true once i had cau...

Hi James, I'm going to recommend the two books that I've read about on here to my rheumy. It's frustrating, because I try to stay away from certain foods because I know the effect that the drugs have on me, metabolically. Today I have been doing a semi-fast, drinking a lot of water and organic veget...

WL, so far Monday is the biggest day with overhead for Cape May and Rockaway. I am somewhere on Monday. I'm up for the Rock if your gonna be there, otherwise Cape May is a little bigger. You for hanging around taking pics? I have the best camera Nikon makes with a 300mm if that is perking your ears...

SWELL ALERT!!

Surf Alert for the East Coast. Head high to 1-2' OH E medium period swell with NORTH winds predicted for New York on Monday and Tuesday. With a little luck, the low will be blocked by a Maritme high, and the swell will stick around all week, with clean winds. I'm not in shape for OH, but I want to c...

Dang, sorry about that unfortunate situation WL. With all those complications you mentioned, shouldn't you see your general MD for a referral to an expert about all those problems? I mean they say eat dairy, but they know your lactose intolerant? Seems like you need a good doctor. My PCP was...

Argh

I have a rheumatologist, I have an appointment to see him on Monday. My neurologist has already started changing all of my medications to help with this issue as of yesterday. But a lot of the times there are "real world" coping mechanisms and the textbook advice that doctors give over and...

WL, I have learned to look forward to the winters here. Less crowds, and my wetsuits are superb! I doubt the water would get under 41f in the ocean. Haven't seen it yet anyway. I keep checking the report, and it's going to be LAKE flat this weekend  It's been two weeks, I need some waves! A fe...

Gouty arthritis. I'm not saying anyone on here is old.

I'm asking because you're mostly guys. AND NOT OLD! I think that I am going to shoot myself today. I'll be 35 on Saturday, this is a terrible birthday gift. I'm going to make a very long story short here. I was in an accident 6 years ago, had head and spine trauma. I take a lot of medication for hea...

Brrrr....

Today was pretty clean and freezing cold out, with offshores blowing in my face. I had a nice windburn when I was done, in the shape of a square from what was peeking out from my hood. It was thigh to waist, although the person I passed on the boardwalk told me there was "shoulder high barrels&...

Kite surfing looks like so much fun - but have you seen the costs? The start up is wicked expensive! The kites alone were like $700! Woo hoo!

Kitesurfing would be good for around here, though. All wind. No waves. Maybe I should sell all of my stuff and invest in a kitesurfing set up!!
