G`day lefty, whereabouts in the Eastern Suburbs?
I grew up surfing the bombie at Thompsons Bay, eventually moved to warmer climate and cheaper land.

Congrats to Dave Parkes in particular, but also to everyone who competed or was involved.

Memorial service was postponed til next Friday 7th at Noosa Heads surf club. A good surfer but also a pleasure to surf with, the few times we dropped in on each other always ended up with sharing, and a smile.

I am guilty of indiscretions to which i make a public apology. They are a great bunch of people involved in these contests and this site.
Would be a shame, but my own fault if i`ve worn out my welcome.

:D Have to say what a great contest. The surf on Saturday was challenging but you wouldn`t think so by the way everyone was surfing. Pretty spectacular location, very laid back atmosphere and the amount of beaches nearby is mind boggling. Great to see pleanty of families there, people from different...

Thanks Doc and Tom, plans on hold due to health reasons so havn`t looked in to it much.
Still a few months away though, and i`d love to do more exploring before the body gets too old.
How feasible is travelling around West Java during the wet season?

Thanks Tom, apparently there are waves in North & North East Borneo, don`t know about the rest of the place. Long way from Samarinda but still worth checking out if possible.

G`day folks, contemplating a trip to Samainda in Borneo this November for a martial arts tournament. Would be nice to combine it with a surf trip.
