Guys and gals, It's great to WANT a WT event every year, but to each and every one of you please respect the amount of effort it takes to pull these off. You DON'T want these events to happen with out the planning and preparation which take a huge amount of time to put together given the limited res...

Quit your day job...
Ed,
You can quit your day job. Surf by day, write by night.
This post is what KSUSA is all about.
Love it.
Cheers,
Don

Sorry my trip was so short down to OC. It was FANTASTIC to see Ler, Backer, Wayne, the gracious host Mark Robertson, Tom Linn, Bill Lerner, Curtis, John Adams, Barry, Eric Osland, Craig Russell, Danny Robertson, Fred Rodriguez, and I'm sure I've left someone out by mistake... You guys in So Cal have...

Skansand, I'll gladly paddle out with you so you don't feel lonely at Steamer Lane. I'd certainly hate to see you letting perfect set waves go by looking for a few waves you'll score highly on. I watched Slater at Trestles in a 2 man heat with a 2 wave scoring system letting PERFECT Lowers waves go ...

Red's Coopers Cup...
Red,
I'm looking forward to this event as well as the rest of the PIKC festivities. It'll be a gas stepping off the 14 hour flight and getting an introduction to PI w/ the Coopers Cup! Sounds like it's going to be another great showing.
Cheers,
Don

Bob,
Get Mark Robertson to shoot a photo of his cabinet system. Typical melamine home depot cabinet but he's got probably 15 boards in there...
I'm thinking of going vertical myself. I've been saying that since I started kneeboarding but that's a different story...

Swerve tail...
Just by chance I went out to ebay and saw a circa '85 Parkes swerve tail slab. I brought home a similar board from my trip in '84 and rode the rails off of it. Even surfed big Ulu on it! Years later I had Schoelkopf shape a board based on the design and it was so un-california... had to have Clark d...

Reverse...
Yep. Rob Slater has provided us with the picture and it was something he scanned in which caused the reversal of the Drift logo.
Good eyes.

Ken, Not my choice my friend! OB doesn't offer us much in the summer... I'll be looking to test pilot in the fall. Sure I'll surf garbage in the off-season (most of us do... some more than others  ) but for judging a boards true character I'll reserve judgement until Fall. The weight factor i...

I'm sure Danny can get the canard fin setups. He said something about switching over to something else right before he left. You can email him at danny@hesssurfboards.com and he'll respond when he gets back (June 2nd?) The OB fish is what the footboarders are riding. I'm going to probably try someth...

He is using an EPS frame... here's an excerpt from his concepts page... Wood: Each board is built using Amapola, Cork and Poplar. Danny prefers to work with Amapola and Poplar because of their high tensile strength to weight ratio. Perimeter Frame: Each perimeter frame is constructed using a system ...
