I use fins for paddling out too, only use my arms when catching a wave.

The downside is I'm currently suffering with calf cramps a lot due to lack of fitness and long paddle outs where I surf in the UK :(

Without the fins in my current (lack of) fitness, I'd struggle to get out back just using arms.

I've got both Octoblades and Tech II's. My Octoblades are my summer fin worn without socks and I wear socks withe Tech II's in the winter. I'm finding I'm getting a lot more cramp with the Tech II's but it's just as likely to be from having to fin for longer periods due to the more powerful winter s...
