Where is kneeboarding going?

I have a quick question for everyone- where do you see kneeboarding in 20-30 years time?

Re: Using swim fins and not using swim fins

How come aussies tend to ride without swim fins and the yanks and the brits tend to ride with em? I'm not sure how that trend developed. A lot of Australians use flippers (I'd say there are more Australians that use flippers than those that don't), though a sizeable proportion never touch them. Per...

Re: Length of board

I'm trying to get back into being a kneelo after about 12 years out of the sport due to going off to uni and working away and stuff. I need a new board hence the other thread but reading some of the threads on here, I'm suprised by the length of boards people are riding. Ok, they could be guns or s...

I wouldn't call my backhand weaker, just different. I can throw more power into my backhand turns, but I can't throw the tail over sections using my feet as well as I can on rights. On rights I can control the board purely with my feet, while on lefts I tend to push my entire body into turns- which ...

Don't really understand the idea of frontside -backside on Knees? Why? Seems like total disadvantage to me, not to mention ugly ... I don't about other people, but I can't help it. I do it naturally, I get up left knee forward every wave without fail. I've tried getting up parallel and botto...

Parallel/Symmetrical vs. Staggered/Asymmetrical Stances.

Which style do you prefer? Those that surf with a parallel (symmetrical) stance, surfing lefts and rights identically, or those that surf with an asymmetrical stance (i.e. one knee up, one knee back), surfing with a backhand and forehand? I'd have to say I love both styles. I really like the look of...

Haha, both my boards were out of action today (I had to repair them), so I grabbed this beaten up old 5'7" from under the house and stand up surfed with flippers on. It went great! I had so much fun!

Can you explain this a bit more, Nov?
You use your feet as a standup would use his back foot. Your feet are over the fins, so small movements with them makes a lot of water squirt through the fins- this generates speed.

You have to crouch, lean forward and use your feet to make your tail squirt, which then gives you speed.

Surf someone elses board that has kneewells where you want your knees to be. If you get up in the wrong position, you should slip into the kneewells that are already there. Eventually you should automatically start getting up with your knees in that position

3ft lefts at Northy. Smashed a couple of nice reverses, plus I'm getting heaps of speed off my rebounds on my backhand roundhouses. All in all, a good surf. :)
