2011 KSUSA titles - need a favour

Hey all! I've finally made the preparations- I'm heading over for the KSUSA titles. :) My travel plans have been expanded a bit though and I'm now doing a lot of sightseeing with my girlfriend that I can't take my board to- so I need ask a favour of someone in the KSUSA community, would it be possib...

2011 KSUSA Title dates

Hey all,
I'm looking to travel at the end of this year in December (thanks to me being done with uni soon) to the US and stay there until January, possibly February- what dates are the KSUSA titles going to be on? I'd love to pull a Gav and come over and surf in it. :)

I see a major problem here ,we can talk about sending the elite out in heavy waves all we like. But in 15years there will be no badens or simons or gavins and at 40 yrs old i,m one of the youngest cripples on the gold coast. Unless we can generate some serious interest in the sport were finished. I...

The Nias section looks amazing. It looks way better designed than the big name mags like Waves etc.

Thanks Southpeak, I was wondering what his preference is these days on fin set-ups. I think in all that footage from Waterslaughter he was on some kind of twinnie but that was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Waterslaughter...great surf flick w/ classic Nov and Simon, anyone out there able...

Most kneeboarders are so old that they don't break wind ... they break dust. Must disagree with the Golf comparison though ... the fact is there just hasn't been any young guys capable of dethroning the likes of Sparrow and co. That's because there are no young guys. Prodigal-like talents l...

Reports of kneeboading's demise are greatly exaggerated. How so? Are the vast majority (around 80%) of kneeboarders today in their 40s-50s or not? Where is kneeboarding going to be once all those guys are dead? Nov; kneeboarding on life support... maybe that's the best place for it. At least it's g...

I know, my suggestion seems lame, but if my getting out there inspires someone, anyone, that's better than nothing. Getting young surfers used to seeing kneelos around has to help, I reckon. I'm not world title material, but I can actually ride a wave from beginning to end on a good day, and I get ...

Back in the day surfing was more a subculture whose members were more likely to make their own decisions without interference from various marketing departments. The co-option of surfing by business has a lot to do with why there are no longer kneelo divisions in stand up club comps, no kneelo adve...

Nov, To elaborate a little...when I was a grommet, the mysto element in the shortboard revolution was Mr Greenough. In the nascent surfing press we used to read about people such as Nat Young and Bob McTavish being VERY complimentary about both GG's surfing ability and the "radical" board...

No, it won't be just fine. By doing nothing, we've landed ourselves in this situation. Pretending that everything's fine won't make the problem go away.

It will likely be gone. Most people see it as antiquated when compared to dropknee/prone sponging or standup surfing. In reality, its an amazing experience, but I don't think with the current lack of interest in the sport that people are going to realize that soon enough to keep it from vanishing. ...
