Need a new Kneeboard - how to buy?

Hey Everyone, Long time lurker, seldom poster here... I need to buy a new Kneeboard. Don helped me purchase my first - a Parkes - a several winters ago - and I picked up a shorter, thinner, summer time board from my friends down in Brazil a year later. Now I'm ready for another one, but where...

Big Disappointment

This always happens on the first big swell of the year. Everyone's expectations (including mine) go sky high and we forget that the first true winter swell tears up all the sand bars and assorted flotsam and jetsam - both natural and man made garbage, combining to make for one giant swirling mass of...

I agree with RW's points. My world was rocked by Darcy's photos of the Big Sur gathering on that epic south swell! I will most likely never surf that spot she took photos of, that later trickled into other websites. But it was cool to see them and mind-surf them. Isn't this what the magazine industr...

cheesey B movie of the south swell from early October...

Windows Media Player format. From a "Bruce" posting on today's www.niceness.org. All stand up surfers, but a good sample of small Steamers.

OK, I was the one who posted this topic "How is the surf so far this year in your part of the world?" over 14 months ago, and it's received 360 replies as of today. I win! Right? Don't I get a prize or something? After all, people must like the words I chose, or else they wouldn't post? Hm...

Stemple. Well, sorry you didn't have a good time there. I can't argue with any of your points. I've had similar impressions myself about CR since living there. Luckily, I was there to work in San Jose, and only made it out to the beach areas every other weekend. You're right, it's not high quality s...

Hey SFKneelo ! Yeah, I guess I was wrong about the tidal swings. 1 to 10 ft is good enough to produce good pounding surf, just the swells never seem to get too large down there... Anyway, yeah ! I stayed at that same cabina in Dominical, the wooden ones out on that cool mini peninsula. That was real...

Costa Rica rarely gets huge. Something about the direction the coastline is positioned, and the lack of big tidal swings I think. That said, waves at Playa Hermosa hit the sandbar really hard, and is one of the few beach breaks in CR that barrels into shallow inside sections. Now that I think about ...

I lived in CR for one year, though I only surfed on the weekends. I really like Playa Hermosa, even though it's one of the most convenient spots and not super off the beaten track (don't bother with Jaco). Pavones is not my cup of tea. The vibe there is of a gold rush frontier town - all dudes, all ...

Kneeboards free on American Airlines ?

https://www.aa.com/content/customerService/baggage/baggageAllowance.jhtml So I'm planning a trip, and I wondered about fees for flying with my kneeboard. I found this link on AA site: "The following items are free in place of one of the 62in/157cm bags within the free baggage allowance: # Arche...

Fullers

Anyone on this board ever surf Fuller's ? I know it's supposed to be the most local spot in California, with the exception of Lunada Bay perhaps. I almost made the hike down one morning several years ago, but my buddy freaked out at the sight of some swarthy looking locals pulling up to the trail en...
