I was out @ 56th yesterday, crappy but deserted, so it was nice to have anything that came thru to myself. I brought one of my employees out for his first surf session in like 3 years. So we were both wiping out but laughing our heads off

Thanks Max! I would feel a lot more confident showing up there if I thought I had an ally in the water hehe.

Awesome thread! As a 5'6" 200 lb woman, you can imagine my difficulty finding a fullsuit that fits. I am making do with a men's O'Neil Heat XLS (extra large short) but the arms and legs are so friggin long it's ridiculous. Frog House told me I can get it altered by their lady, but I would rathe...

A friend of mine said that the higher numbered streets in Newport are really competitive, and that if you aren't shredding hard you get yelled at and messed with. Do you find this to be the case, Max? The waves look so tasty, but I don't need any grief while trying to get my groove back...

Someone lighter than me might have fun with the 4'11 INT I have been using. Tri-fin, (FutureFin boxes,) soft top with fiberglass bottom. Bit much rocker to me, and only about 20 1/2" wide, (used a 12" ruler to measure, so might be off a bit lol,) so needs to be a light person for it to be ...

I get so jealous looking at the shape of you AUS's waves. Right now all I'm finding in OC are crumbly-topped waves that barely push a longboard. I am patient though, waiting for winter surf in Newport Beach...

I had lived in Providence, RI for a couple years in the late '90s, and I never thought of surfing being good there. Shows what I know! Hehe I swear I'm getting an ice cream headache just thinking about the water temp there this time of year...

Thank you!

Thanks much for the posts. Surfhorn, the guy who told me about this website was one of the Huntington KB crew! Very friendly, sweet guy, let me take most of the waves the first half hour I was there. I had been the only non-standup person I saw every time I went for a month or so, then this day ther...

best board for me?

Hi all, I am just getting back into the water after an 18 year break from surfing. I'm looking for some advice on the best board for me. I am in SoCal, and I usually surf Huntington Beach or Newport. I've been making do with a 4'11" INT soft top, and it is about 20" across at its widest po...
