Growing up in nearby Pacific Beach I also started making my own kneeboards by stripping down old longboards. These were old boards found thrown out in the trash. I do now wonder what gems I might have torn up.

Question: there is a trend to paint D-Day (Invasion) stripes on boards, are these supposed to be anti-shark stripes? I wondered because there is always the wrong number of stripes, usually six or more instead of the correct five stripes (3 white and 2 black).

Nice, my basic rule of design is the "10 foot" test, is it readable or at least identifiable at 10 feet?

I would assume you have a contaminate in the substrate. Most fish eyes (from the auto paint world) are caused by silicone, oils, grease, etc. Any kind of wax, cleaners, etc that can leave airborne contaminates on the board could cause fish eyes. I have stated on the beach that "Spinners" are not big points scorers, bare in mind they score much higher than doing nothing in the weak part of a wave.
I think the original question may be about tail slide cutbacks.

For being a good boy Evan was given a two day pass from rowing practice to compete in the Titles. He still has a regatta that Sunday.
