Has anyone had dramas with zippers seizing up? I recently had to cut a board out of a 'Full Boar' bag as the salt seemed to react with the aluminium zip. This was a shame as it's a nice bag. (I tried everyting from soaking, heating it, WD40 etc) The zip material used might be someting to consider wh...

The burning eye issue (sounds like a song title) makes or breaks a sunscreen for me. I don't know why, but some brands sting like hell, and others are fine. Quite often, the more expensive brands seem to be the worst offenders. Farmland 30+ (generic brand) in the economy pump pack is my choice at th...

Wow Steen...I was holding my breath just reading that.
Touch wood, the fun stuff hangs in there for a while. It seems to be feast or famine lately.

I'll be hooking up with a few mates in the carpark at Moffat's Beach(Caloundra) at 7.30am on Tuesday 2nd March. Just a couple of standups and another kneelo, a Caloundra local, that I met in the water a couple of weeks ago. A fresh swell courtesy of TC Ivy is promised, but the forcast is predicting ...

That's an interesting site Jonny - Thanks. I usually hook up to coastalwatch.com, which has a few good cameras. Andy, I'm planning on taking the drive on Monday or Tuesday anyway, so I'll drop you a line over the weekend. And despite my ex-wife being a native of Cornwall, I'd still love to visit the...

Sunshine Coast surf...

Hi all. I've got a couple of day's off next week, (sorry guys, I guess this relates to Queensland kneelos mostly). I'll be going for a surf with a few of my work co-horts (all footboarders unfortunately) on either Monday or Tuesday ( 1st or 2nd of March) on the Sunny Coast. The weather map shows a l...

Some of my best memories relate to surfs I've had. I think they're all memorable for some reason, whether it be due to the conditions, the location, the mates I've spent time with or the stoke in general - it's all good. One session in particular sticks in my mind. It was a few years ago and I was f...

kneeriding feels so natural, I've never thought of standing up. It sounds fun though, and i'm keen to have a crack at it the next time I hit the water. Never having been a footboarder, what works best, going straight to your flippered feet, or catching the wave normally and then trying to stand up? ...

Hi Stemple. I'm hearing you re:- the unfortunate surf kama of late. With christmas and caring for my two beautiful children for the past month, many a surf session has passed me by. Hopefully the situation will be rectified this weekend. "I am not too familiar with the surf spots and I have nev...

Thanks gents. At least I can sound half switched on when dealing with the travel agent. Have there been any previous threads relating to travelling with board(s) by air - specifically dealing with Australian carriers. ie how much extra does it cost etc...? and In October, how cold is the surf in N.Z...

Lowrider - Andy.

Keep us posted if a get together happens on the North coast in the near future. It would be great to surf with some other like minded souls.

New Zealand advice.

Hi all. My significant other has been talking about taking a fly/drive tour of New Zealand. I wasn't overly keen at first, until I started thinking about the surf potential. She has been talking about a two week trip in late October this year. Destinations which combine the chance of a surf with sig...

Hi Techno

Hi Techno and others. I joined the forum recently and am sifting through some of the old posts. This one interested me as I usually surf Kawana with my standup mates, and haven't seen another kneelo recently on the north coast. Spindrift Street has been our favourite bank recently, a nice little wav...

My new board has a set of pads on it, and I don't even notice them there - they just work.
Wax was a pain after sitting in the car/oven for a couple of hours in 40c+, although I still like a touch where my hands make contact with the board.

I'm generally happy to get wet no matter what the conditions, and living 45 minutes easy drive to my favourite wave which I can surf sans wettie all year, I would no doubt sound spoilt if I bitched. I am however certain that the weather pattern has changed (and not for the better) over the past coup...
