Re: Why are kneeboards so wide?

Lower center of gravity +
Knee to knee , not toes to heel.
= more powerful drivier turns .

Maybe thats what they’re aiming for

Im no design guru no have I ever shaped a board 😁

Hey Tom
The poly hotcoat was exactly what I did. I sanded off the previous attempt with the epoxy. I've ridden it a few times now. Makes the small stuff fun

I've just chopped down a 5'10" to a 5'2". Chopped the the very narrow nose (14") of a 22.5" wide, "fins back", epoxy board.. really shitty board. Didnt take out much foam from the new nose so now its a pretty flat rockered board with a thick wide nose. swallow tail.. Re...

makes reaction time slower, if I'm sitting on my heels, l noticed. Board less responsive. I ride a fins forward board. I find that it I kneel further back it allows me to lean forward and I can turn my torso more and extend more when turning/driving. If I kneel further forward I tend to sit on my he...

Hey Paul
how r ya?
The boards goes great. Very fast and easy to ride. Of course its a bit long and wide considering it was shaped for you.
Just put center fins on it so i can ride it as a tri and a quad. Haven't tried it as a tri yet. Will let you know how it goes

Going to Bali on 1st July. Possible to buy a board there?

Hey guys
I'll be going to Bali for a week, starting 1st July.
Know anyone in Bali who might sell a 2nd hand kneeboard? My "everyday" board is a 5'7" x 22 1/2" x 2 1/2". Looking to get something around that size

Hey Wolruss At first, I was thinking of getting NSG 05 but ended up getting Inside & Out (since Mentawai waves look more like the waves here. I was interested in seeing how kneeboards can be ridden in these waves. Had only seen a couple of kneeboarders in my 20yrs(close to) of surfing.) I think ...

I bought it about 1 1/2yrs ago and I still watch it a lot and learn from it a lot. I've been kneeboarding about 2yrs now and its a great film to learn technique... for beginners and the "non beginners". GREAT surfing & footage. Good music too. It's the only surf film I've ever bought a...

Thank you guys. You've given me heaps of helpful info "... that's why we have kneeboard shapers". You're right Headwax. I have a Parkes (5'10") and a Neil Luke (5'9") that were given to me, in very good condition, by a friend (ya, a very generous guy) . But they were shaped for h...
