Thanks Joe, unfortunately, being a Uni student I'm kinda skint and the boards I currently ride aren't all that trustworthy and are fairly on their last legs. I shopped around for flights and luggage was a major factor, but I read the terms wrong and I'm flying with Iberia, who charge $150 each way f...

Getting a board shaped in Perú

Hi all. I'm heading to Perú to study on exchange from August to December. I really want to surf the waves there, but board fees on the flights I've got are a killer! I've found a bloke in Lima with a APS3000 shaping machine, an experienced footboard shaper. My thought is to get him to make me a boar...

Meanoes

Tubed at Meanoes for the first time in 2 and a bit years yesterday. Tide was dropping and the step was doing it's thing and I slotted in just where I'd left off. Stoked!

I'm Home!

Hey Everyone.
Thank you to everyone who made my west coast adventure so much fun. I'm back home now, it's freezing cold, I didn't get any waves in Vanuatu coz I slept in till the trade-winds blew, so now I'm heading to the beachies to see if ANYTHING is about!
Cheers,
Andy.

Hello kneelos.

G'day, It's been a while, but in my defence it's been beautiful sunny weather, so I have kinda been avoiding the computer as much as possible, and also I came down with a cold (in Summer! How does THAT happen?!?) and was laid up in bed for a day. Anyway, I'm back at it now, and with only a little ti...

San Diego to LA!

Hello all, I'm heading north from San Diego today after a couple of days exploring the city and enjoying the sun. Thought I'd pop up the itinerary. I'll be in San Elijo State park tonight, Doheny State beach on Thursday night, and I'll be continuing north after that. Hope to catch some kneelos along...

Does anyone have a lawn in Huntington Beach?

Hi all. My name is Andy, I'm a 23 year old Australian kneelo, currently bicycling from Seattle to San Diego. I am ahead of schedule and over budget, and was hoping to find somewhere to camp in Huntington for the memorial weekend. Unfortunately there is no tent camping allowed on the beaches or in th...

Not by choice Mike!

Would have loved to spend some time in Huntington, but ther's no campgrounds or youth hostels anywhere, and hotels are unfortunately outside my budget. My mate and I ended up unrolling our sleeping bags on the beach on the Balboa peninsula, hoping no ne would come and boot us out. The waves were not...

Los Angeles!

Hey all. I spent a few days in the LA area, partying and carrying on, a night in Venice, and 2 down in Hermosa Beach, which definitely lived up to it's name. I was wearing my KSUSA hat that Bob gave me in 'Frisco, which of course started a few conversations in the hostel about kneeboarding. One of t...

Montana de Oro makes me happy!

Hey, Fredo showed me Sandspit and gave me a 6' quad to ride, and wow, after the first few to get warmed up, that thing was magic! The waves were glassy and bowly to begin with, great fun for fitting in tight turns in the pocket, and as the tide dropped, the waves got some speed, and down the line wa...

Morro Bay!

Hello all. I was away from the rest of the world for a little bit there. Went hiking up in Big Sur for a few days. Hiked up to Sykes, and carried a 90 pound dog out (good story, I'll tell you sometime), then continued my ride over those killer hills. and finally made it to Morro Bay, looking like so...

Monterey!

Santa Cruz was a cool place, but I didn't find any boards to ride there. The waves were pretty small anyway, but those points sure did look like a lot of fun. I'm on my way south still, and about to go camp out in Big Sur for the weekend, to hide away from the traffic, then onwards down the coast. I...

Bloody Good day!

It was a lot of fun for sure Bob, and a great write up on the day. The one thing he didn't mention was that Bob was SHREDDING! One of the many times I was caught inside, Bob dropped in, raced down the line, somehow throwing in two carving top turns, then a final snap, right under the lip. I didn't s...
