kids on lids

Was out at Pink Rocks one afternoon when the easterly wind finally swung round to the south and the sun came out. I've just pulled off a wave after a joy barrell section in front of this kid on a lid and he's gone, "Is that a kneeboard? What's it like?" So I told him, "It's just like ...

Looks like the lads would be getting hammered on the Island (check the link). Just about time for a low tide session at Woolami - not! Womble, either my wireless has blown another valve or KSA is off the air. Would be good to see more updates on their site. Good question: how do kneeboarders in Aus ...

Congrats Don and the crew. I love looking through the old posts and images. I encourage KSUSA members to post here ahead of TFB (some of us never look at that site).

As we all know the ACT has some pretty decent waves - Pipe, Broken Lighthouse and others. So may be that is why Canberra is hosting this exhibition - see links. Pretty cool looking stuff but no KB's that I could see. I'll go check it out on the weekend. http://www.theage.com.au/entertainment/art-and...

I was at the tip yesterday and picked up one of those ancient hollow plywood surfboards - 8' x 23". It's in really good condition and I can't wait to try it out. BTW - are these worth anything?

Stuff by McKee is really good. Like his analogy with tyers on a car. Have learnt a bit for his words. However, can't agree with him (unless I have misunderstood) that fins make you go faster. Fins = drag and drag = slower. An expert gutslider can go faster than anyone with fins because they have not...

Disaster in New Zealand

Seeing the horrendous disaster in NZ my heart goes out to fellow kneelos in that area. Bad seeing birds covered in oil and whole ecosystems laid waste (and waves going unridden no doubt due to the mess and general distraction associated with the clean up - see: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-10-18/...
