Get well soon, Mike.

Sorry to hear this, Mike. I was at 56th and the set waves definitely had some punch, especially on the lower tide. Probably going to be difficult to talk for a little while so I'll give you a little time before I call you direct. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Geez, and I thought "The Broke Neck" club was gonna be a tough one to crack...now we have the "Hole-in-the-Head" gang. So stoked to hear that you're going to be okay, Chuck. Having worked a few years in construction, I can tell you that this isn't always the case. You are i...

Mutiny injured

Just saw this...sounds very similar to my own injury. Thank God Ed was there to get Tom to the sand. I'll be in to see you as soon as it's OK Tom, until then I've got you in some serious prayer brother.

Good luck Terence, getting back in the water after an accident can be tough, believe me I know. Perfectly normal to have those lingering "what-ifs" but those fade into the background the more you get out there. The old saying "Let your conscience be your guide" really comes into ...

I surfed today.

Well guys, I did it... After more than three months of being out of the water, today I got to surf. And let me tell you, it was the best feeling in the world...head-high to overhead roping walls with those santa ana winds we all love. It wasn't quite the bombing freight trains we passed on at Bolsa,...

scrimmage at kneelo cove

Yes Craig, I plan on being there this Saturday. This will be the first time I've been back to the beach since the accident. I wish I could say that I'll be in the water with you guys, but I'm still hampered by a loss of ROM in my left arm. Lots of therapy still to go. But I will have a camera with m...

Andy Irons

Just saw this online...so very, very sad. He seemed so stoked on his win at Teauhopoo. And with a child on the way. Thoughts and prayers to the Irons family.

For right now the protocol is for a few months of PT, with the possibility of surgery to remove bone spurs and correct any bone degeneration in the area of c5, c6. I have limited range of motion on my left side, but they're giving me a more likely than not chance for full recovery. Well, so much for...

carcas and saving my life. Thankyou to Pat Towersey, Craig Soderquist and the three other champs whose names I haven't been able to track down who selflessly came to my aid and transported me to the sand, saving my life. And a special Thankyou to Tom Cozad, whose expertise in emergency lifesaving te...

Oxygen level is beyond critical. Reality sets in. I try with every fiber of my being to hold on, but it's no use. I say goodbye to my wife...goodbye to my daughter..and as stupid as it sounds, my very last thought: I can't believe I'm actually going to drown at what most would consider to be an &quo...

The next wave loomed on the horizon, a solid 10' double up that caught me off guard in the impact zone, blasting the inside front edge of my board into the right side of my face with a force I can only describe as demonic. It hit me with such force that it bent my head back far enough for my skull t...

Kenny Honingford Update 10/15/2010

To all my friends and brothers here at KSUSA, I was just released from Hoag hospital about 2 hours ago and am resting now at home and want to give everyone an update on my condition. But before I do anything else, I want to offer my deep and sincere appreciation to all of you that have expressed con...
