Bought a brand new El Paipo knee machine( fancy airbrushed) with my own money when I was 15 yrs old ....first wave lost it and COMPLETLY destroyed it on the rocks! :cry:

I guess Lis still drops in on knees on no paddle takeoffs.He said," he wants to be able to walk when he's fifty" , well passed fifty now ...I have been kneeriding for 38 yrs now and been using pads for twenty of those yrs. Also, been working on my knees on Yachts for 32 yrs.So......my knee...

Excuse my ignorance...what do your swimfins have to do with going vertical? I have a pair of those fins and really like them too.Interesting point though..rail turns might not matter ?? Maybe flat turns would?

Just like surfing styles...some, are obviously trying too hard and some go with the flow and make difficult look easy. " Herding cats", I like that one! 8) I want to add, Kneeboarding is changing and really flourishing right now. Many,many standup shapers and surfers are riding, and KNEEBO...

Birthday surf this morning at third spot checked. A finicky beach break just now starting to work after a LONG hiatus. Combo swell making some decent wedging OH peaks, 15mph stright offshore. Maybe 10 others the water. Steep late drops, bottom turn, off the lip, and fizzle...still, glad to get some...

Rich Pavel was kneeboarder but, nowadays shapes a standup board called the quadfish. Good luck getting one within 2 yrs ,he's backed up 1500 orders or so. Making Generalizations is very pedestrian...

So anyone that EVER had a kneeboard made by a standup shaper was a big Kook at that time :? We always thought," the guy that always talked big and did a lot of chest pounding is the biggest KOOK!" :?: I just want to keep track of what's a kook and what's cool so I don't deviate too much....

I agree with Wino, "pull into closeouts at a beach near you ". I would ride them to the end...because the safest place is in the tube.
