Re: concave deck kneeboard

Hey Kneeler's. Here's a waterskate from the 70's by one of my old neighbors in Carlsbad, CA. He like Greenough made a lot of innovative stuff.

Re: Time for a new board

Sorry for the late post, I have to agree with brad on the fins and foam, recommend routering out the deck area where your knees are and use a sheet of divinycell if your going to use red. Just from my experience. Also a sheet of carbon 2x2 over that and your board will be almost impervious to the pr...

New Kneeboard for Terra Mar

Hello Kneelers, Picked up this sweet fish from Tony Caramagna at TC Surfboards yesterday. I could kneeboard it at Terra Mar without getting hated since its technically a longboard. I could do some cheater two's (knees) on it. just need a long deck pad. Seriously Tony is an excellent craftsmen and ca...

Re: Anybody tried kneeriding the mass market short/wide surfboards?

Hey Kneelers, I Saw Chuy Reyna from firewire at the board room show this weekend. We talked about the sweet potato and fin setup options. He said that because fin locations are CNC routered, they cant change the fin locations very easily. I guess the only option would be to order the board without f...

Re: Hello Fello Kneelos

Here's another pic of my fish and one that my brother made its a standup quad. He's a Swamis Local Boy. My other brother makes tricked out carbon fiber RC gliders. The three of us use to make stuff under the DownSouth label starting in the late 70's. Barry Snyder remembers, he lived up the street fr...

Re: Hello Fello Kneelos

Yeah we might have surfed together at Lobster Lounge in La Jolla, Garbage, Abbs, or Newbreak at the Cliffs as I was still kneeboarding in the 80's and 90's. For me the 70's were a great time to be in the short board design phase. I designed my first "Bonzer Fish" right after I made a Stand...

Re: Fish: A Documentary

Watched the movie this morning, Very cool... I was a cliffs regular back then riding my take on Steve's boards. Lots of innovations going on back then. Brought back some serious memories of how much fun we had back then.
Definitely worth the 5.99

Re: Anybody tried kneeriding the mass market short/wide surfboards?

The Sweet Potato with fins moved up sounds tempting, I surf with Firewire Rep's Wife in SD North County. I'll have to check with her about possibilities. Here's a video by her husband a few years ago on the Sweet Potato. Aloha, Mike Sunset Cliffs Kneeboarder 1970's Steve Lis Apprentice https://www.y...
