Da Fins may be worth a try
I got a pair of "Da Fins" last year for Christmas. Have you guys every tried that brand of fin? You can check out the website at www.dafin.com There's a picture of a lifeguard running in them. Now, I've never actually done that, but they are super light and I can see how, if you really had...

another softie possiblity
Hey Surfnut, I've been riding a couple of black ball beaters with fiberglass on the fin side and a soft deck up top. Not too bad. Probably my favorite board though is my all-over softie I got from Catchsurf.com I really like my 5'0" quad from Catch Surf. I've had a bad head injury and a broken ...

Kneelo Softboard quiver
Hi PainlessJen, Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with the board you are talking about. I've got a similar one in my softie quiver, actually. It's a Surface brand board, fish, 4'11", thruster, soft top and fiberglass bottom. I like it, but I'm not as thrilled with the tri-fin set up as I woul...

Just ordered a Morey Catchsurf YQuad
Hi, I posted here before about switching from fiberglass to softer boards due to my head injury and broken nose. Well, after seeing the link to Catchsurf, I contacted the company and they said they'd sold a few twins and quads to kneeboarders. I decided to give it a shot and have got a 5'0 YQuad on ...

Congratulations on going kneelo
Welcome! I started kneeboading a few years ago as a hybrid between stand up and bodyboarding and I love it. I picked up my first board used from a dude I met at the kneeboard gatherings a few years ago--a Blast Hawaii board shaped by Bud McCray. From there I went on to get a kneeboard custom shaped,...

Hey gang, Thanks for all the support on the brain bucket. Now another thing has happend and it's going to keep me dry docked until spring. Hubs accidentally clocked my nose while flailing in his sleep (wrong place, wrong time), so I had reconstructive surgery and now no surfing until it heals up but...

Thanks man!
Torrey Pines is an awesome break when its on from what I gather. Enjoy your time on the knee machine, and I hope you find some people to network with on here! I'm in the South Bay, so its a no go from me, but I'm stoked for anyone who overcomes an injury (a head injury, especially) and gets back ou...

No internet link to the page unfortunately
hi hart,
Sorry, no link to the page, but you can find the book in just about any bookstore in the sports section. If you get a chance, wander on in and flip through the book at Borders or B & N. It's actually a fun book to peruse.
Thanks!

Check out page 141 in Surf Diva book
Hey waterfolks, There doesn't seem to be a whole lot written specifically about kneeboarding these days. Soooo, being a "knee writer" I try to get stuff out about the sport when I can. If you haven't checked out 'Surf Diva: A girl's guide to getting good waves,'(Harcourt, 2005) give it a g...

Torrey Pines helmet girl
Hi fellow kneelos, If any of you happen to be out at Torrey Pines and see a chick with a red kneeboard and wearing a helmet, paddle up and say hi (if you're not too embarassed to being seen talking to a weirdo wearing a helmet, that is). I had a head injury, that's why I have to wear the dorky helme...
