Interesting discussion here guys. I like it, despite the obvious kneejerk reactionary comments from those who obviously didn't read my post fully. I'm sorry if you got the wrong impression. I have nothing but respect for those who have won certain titles. I actually believe the KSA Title has more cr...

Getting back to the original question of an Australian Champion. How can there be an Oz Champion when it is based on competitions on the East Coast? It would be an Oz Champion in name only, with very little credibility. If the champion is a champion of a geographic area then it needs to be inclusive...

I think the original Friar Tuck boys (Peter Ware etc) were shaping, riding and developing quads in the late '70s with extra set of smaller fins forward and outside the main twins to lead the turn...

Jeez i hope someone under 40 wins the opens. There are some great surfers in my generation(i'm 31) and younger that just haven't applied themselves competition-wise (myself included.). its great that the older blokes are still winning but its a bloody disgrace that the younger crop let it happen.ar...

I grab the rail during late free-fall take offs to stop myself separating from the board and then smashing through it on landing. Maintaining contact with the board also allows to transfer energy/speed from the fall into forward movement. Otherwise I never grab the rail. If you turn properly and wit...

I use the Billabong soft-sole booties. I get a new pair at the beginning of winter, butthe time it gets to summer they have holes inthe soles which allows for great water venting and prevents heat build up, but still allows for protection where you need it.

Sweet :D

Being a kneelo you are certainly on the outer - but don't surf for their respect, surf for your own respect.
Just get bowled, hit the lip, laugh and have a good time. It's all infectous.... just like herpes  8)

Sweet - well done to all. That Stan Koefed pops up all over the place. I know what you mean about sitting behind a computer for 6 weeks and then paddling out and expecting to do any good. I find that, in those situations, you haven't got the fitness to compete with the other guys wave-for-wave so I ...

Any results? What happened?

They've dropped kneelos from the Masters up here in Qld, but we're looking at getting a crew together and lobbying to get us reinstated.... where are the nationals next year? Anyone know?

Got some nice 3 foot peaky, bowling waves at Main Beach on Saturday once the tide turned and started coming in. A bit of a cross-shore wind, but really clean inside the bowl. There were some really nice horeshores where you could back-door the main peak and had to turn and follow it around to make '...
