Re: pe?

i PRESUME YOU MEAN PU (POLYURATHANE) NOT PE (POLYETHYLENE) THAT WOULD BE BODYBOARD MATERIAL......HMMM PE KB's I WONDER... Yes, doable, been there, done that, but used Arcel as the core material instead of PE (Arcel is a mold blown blend of PE and PS - PS adds a great amount of stiffness and durabil...

Yep, it's a "swallow tail" - fish tails (ala Lis Fishies) are wider/deeper and more pronounced so as to really work as two completely separate tails (the original fish tail concept/purpose). Whatever, so what - that's one helluva sweet ride ya got there Don! Could it be a notch tailed pin...

I've used commercial arilines quite a bit for surfaris from the Northeast down to Florida, Barbados and once to Puerto Rico. One important thing I learned the hard way - NEVER EVER trust ANYTHING the airlines tell you. When you go to check in, the last thing you want to hear is that the local branch...

I wash down my board after every surf. I carry a jug of water in the car to rinse myself before I get out of my wetsuit and to wash my KB, especially the fins/boxes and leash cup. I was raised in a hunting/fishing/boating family and my dad taught me to take care of my equipement. It has served me w...

Kool, Kevin

... I've included pics of the new board. It's has as much nose rocker as I could shape, and then I flex the nose another inch when I glass my first bottom lam. It's got 5 1/2" of nose rocker. I like some rocker due to the late entry shore pounds that I find myself surfing a lot. The bottom is ...

I make my own KB's because it would get prohibitively expensive to keep me in boards because they last about a year before they're stressed cracked, water logged, missing a few fins, pressure dinged , etc. ... <snip!> Good stuff, Kevin, I like yer approach. IMO, the bottom line is that it doesn't t...

All my boards have single fins. I use a fin box toget the hold I want. The fin I use is called a butterfly fin. I don`t change fins because of the surf I`m riding. Shore break or big outside or in between. I move the fin back when its a step face. Other then that, it stays upas I can get it. We jus...

What kinda travel?

If it's for air flights, the only way for me to go is a Santa Monica SurfCase - bags are fine for cars, but not aircraft!

Deck pads are a God-send! Good 'n' thick pads will really help young knees to eventually cope with old age ... and allow old, bad knees to keep on keepin' on kneeboarding-style. Image
