offroadbob - All my spoons have been 5' long except the first which was 4' 9" and width from 19 3/4 to 22. The black one in the videos is 5 X 19 3/4. It is the same board that's in the pic with yellow/white bottom.
The one TX is riding is 5 X 22.

I guess everyone missed the point - I don't feel any drag, not even an issue. I was pointing out how silly it is to worry about it, especially when my hand dragging on the face has tons more drag than fins in/on my wake. Lack of speed is not a concern. Thanks for all the suggestions on fins. I have ...

Flipper drag

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this. I was reading the threads on fins/flippers as I'm looking for a new pair I can wear without booties. I kept finding references to guys not wearing them because of drag as they hang off the side of the board. Never really thought about it before. Well I ...

Actually works pretty well as a bellyboard. With that spoon the bottom is so round it is hard to pull out when on my belly. Of course I'm a rookie at bellyboarding. I found myself doing things I'd seen sponge riders do.

It does give you a really low perspective - everything is overhead.

Nice little vid flexspoon, did you ever end up getting a H20 audio? Yeah I've got the H2O audio working too! Uplifting trance music while surfing. The cam mount is epoxied to the board and has no pivot. A true test should come this weekend. I also set myself up with a Camelback hydration system for...

Here's a little video snippet from Wednesday.
1st wave maybe 3' and I rode on my knees, next 2 1' and I was bellyboarding. Good camera test.

Hey Masons! Your Romo spoon looks good! It was too small for spoons yesterday but as you know I had another reason for paddling out: Greenough Camera Spoon After riding Greenough spoons since 1969 I decided to follow him down the on-board, in the tube photo and video path. Got myself a GoPro Surf He...

If you are not out riding your spoon you can always use it for lawn furniture/meditation/weight bench. http://www.flexspoon.com/images/pics/romo/spoonflex.jpg Romo has redone his site - check it out: http://romanoskykneeboards.com What flexman said PLUS Perspective: where and when have you ever seen...

After my "leash rant" I realized I'd better add this. For those who are trying out Man O' War's spoon and anyone riding spoons that hasn't learned this the hard way yet: When you dive under a breaking or already broken wave with a spoon there is no "pop back up like a cork" that ...

Spoons and Leashes - my experience Sunset, Pipeline, Malibu at night, 12' Rincon out at the Indicator alone at night, Pt. Mugu directly in front of the rocks - never considered a leash. Never. You learn to hold on to the rail at all times. Death grip. Sometimes your arm will get twisted around whil...

Spoon knows best - tosses its yoke Velo type flexspoon built by Man O' War with "torsion bar" added to deck to limit longitudinal flex. After 3 waves the board rejected this limitation, threw off the bar and was free to flex! Listen to your board. The bar now lies at the bottom of the Pac...

Some pics that show the layers/sanding on my Project Velo board http://flexspoon.com/pics/layers/layers1.htm Note: On all the images I post you can click on the thumbnail to see a much larger image. Torsion bar - of all the Greenough spoons I have seen or ridden I have only seen it on Man O' Wars sp...

Just found this in the Internet Archives - the original "Project velo" page from Blast Kneeboards Hawaii. http://www.flexspoon.com/pics/pvelo/velo.html "Lots of folks have made Greenough-type spoons over the years, but none of them were as highly developed. George evolved his knowledg...

More from Man O' War: http://flexspoon.com/pics/mow/mow1.htm Your velo tail flex photos obviously influenced me profoundly, as you look at these photos. I'm sending six, two at a time. These first two are just a look at the sanding pattern I followed. I stayed true to my principles (right or wrong) ...
