Mike, I've surfed it a bunch of times. My comment just meant that I don't surf it anymore. It's a good 3.5 hour drive. It normally only breaks like this for a few hours at a time, a few times a year. I've got two young kids and a very demanding job. Though it kills me when there's a bit of surf, I j...

Longboard? I can see how you might think that. But, check these pictures taken the same morning. I wasn't there, but I hear the water temp was about 38F.

Despite all our best plans, sometimes life intervenes. I don't even surf the lake anymore, but I like to look at the pretty pictures now and then. The last time I surfed was on my trip to Hawaii a couple of years ago. I'm a slave to the almighty dollar now. cs PS. Thanks for the reply CP. Cherish wh...

Lake Surf

Long time since I've posted. I think this link may make for a couple happy moments. Lake Superior, about as good as it gets.

OK, one more time out of lurk mode and I'm gone, I promise. You won't be very impressed with the Stoney picture(s). But, check the one with "no takers" as the caption. That's the deal. There are a few of those up here, cold and inconsistent though, and you gotta watch the charts all the ti...

Sorry, didn't know they would be down for maintenance. Decent shots of lake waves in the link, when it works.

I guess I'm just averse to "force fin" type fins for some reason. You know, big plastic blade under your foot and some buckles to keep it attached. I like the one piece rubber fin I grew up with, Duckfeet. I just want it bigger to fit my fat ass feet and some thick rubber. I used Force Fin...

Da Fins are all out of stock, but they say they should be available mid-october. Once available, I'm picking up a XXL pair for Winter on Lake Superior. I'll file a report when I get them. Size 12 with a high arch, and 5mm fin socks is my goal. (Does anyone make a 7mm fin sock?)I can't even squeeze V...

Frog, if you're down Oceanside way, look up Mr. C.P. Odom. Not only does he have a great first name, but he's one hell of a class act and he'll even buy breakfast now and then. Oh, and if you're nice, his wife might let you do some laundry and take a shower at their house.

In addition to being a ripping kneelo, it's a well known fact that there is no chin underneath Chuck Norris' beard.... just another fist.
