Eric and I met for the first time at Rincon. He was surfing really well and we introduced ourselves as kneelo brothers will. He told me about the 2002 World Titles in Oz. Several months later we were hanging together on the Sunshine Coast. He was always one of my favorite guys to hang around the bea...

I was so moved by your tribute Scott. I always thought the flex spoon guys were pretty cool although I've never been fortunate enough to get to know them well. I had no idea that the leader of the group was your brother. His passing is truly a loss for the kneelo community. My condolences to you and...

All I can say is my son Chris keeps telling me "go smaller Dad". Less volume and shorter. I'm resisting taking him shorter than 5'6" and 31 sq liters. Meanwhile, his stand up friend paddles out on a 5'3" , 19 " wide twig. Both of these guys get more waves than me at overhead...

"As soon as that power backs off yes you stop and sink. The more volume under you the longer that process takes and the more opportunity there is to find another power source (be it gust or swell or reform etc) to maintain that momentum and accelerate again. I think this holds true between sect...

I'm convinced that rocker and bottom contour have a big effect on wave catching ability. That mini simmons I rode had an almost dead flat rocker, huge dual concaves, and a super wide square tail. I could catch waves as good on that thing as on my full size board. It was outstanding planing over flat...

Ed- I think we all would agree that the Sparrow and Bruce have the rail and rocker combo dialed in pretty nicely. I agree that if you are big and the waves suck then more floatation seems like it should be better. That said I rode a 4'10" x 2 1/2 thick mini Simmons awhile back (volume was maybe...

I've been pondering this point for awhile. Why is it that your basic stand-up rides a board at 28 sq liters and is getting lots of waves be they large or small, while the average kneeboard is about 40 sq liters? In response to that question I've reduced my boards to 34 sq liters and my son, Chris', t...

Hummmm, hang with a bunch of guys pulling their pork and cooking their meat, OR, go to a eco-gardening class that goes native. I'm thinkin' there will be more chicks going native. Does any of this make any sense?
