That sounds alot like a wave over here that breaks in the winter... SBss . The kneelos I see dominate that wave are riding Romonosky Kneeboards... 5'4 to 5'6 ..Quads and Tris with fins near the standard stand-up fin placement.... With flippers.. He might glass em heavy to plow through the chop too?

im about 10-15 ibs lighter than you and I ride a 6'3 x 24" x 3" tri-fin with a chopped pin-tail .... also big guys can really glide on a surf mat or paipo if you feel like prone riding... 8)

Barge Contact cement is the right foot stuff to use.... Some fins with really soft foot pockets can benefit from milk-jug plastic inserts under the neoprene to stiffen the foot pocket and transfer more power....

There is an old saying for anyone that spends a lot of time in the water.
You might go your whole life and never see a GWS, but rest assured, you will have been seen by a GWS.

Definetly get some neoprene armor.. Use the ancient kneeboarder techniche of catching waves.... hold the mat way out in front of you and kick hard... Accepting the kook factor is a major advantage... Teaches you to not take it too seriously and just have fun... :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eA8...
