tailshapes-the back end

Hi Headwax It's all good I just thought I heard the rumblings of fish advocates going WHAT THE !!!! A pin tail more waves than fish  No ^%*&$#@ way. But hey I assumed and you know what they say when you assume. Thirty years ago I would only ride a twin fin fish. I would spin out with si...

tailshapes the backend

ARGH!!! Are you saying pintails catch more waves than fishtails? Or just that a board with less rocker in them make it easier to catch waves. Hmmm can you hear it? Is it possible to have two boards made one fish one pintail who knows how many fins. Hopefully the same for each board. The only differe...

tailshapes-the back end

I ride fishes and pintails it takes a little rider adjusment between the shapes. I have a quad roundedpin that had a nasty hop while making tight turns bottom, cutbacks. Was advised that I was to far forward, made adjustment. Board became slugish. I cut off the glass on and had fcs installed. In smal...

off the rack vs handmade

I havent seen a new kneeboard on the racks on this island since the early eighties. Handmade customs the way to go it's designed with you in mind

force fins

Hello Dr Strange IMHO Its personel preference over which is the best overall. If a person doesnt have the energy to use a large area fin. They may feel that fin doesnt work for them. Or it effects the way their equipment works, fins hanging off rail. Due to my splayed feet I like fins that have a wi...

questions for quad riders

Thanks Zorro Ive never heard the fillets called roving I didnt know what component was being refered to. Most modern fighter jets use blended wing technology not only for stealth but increased lift, less drag as stated. just read on another site one reason pros use glass on fins while in the islands...

questions for quad riders

Somewhat intresting thread. Is boost more a feeling than fact? If you compare the size of a sail to the boat it propels. Fins on a board are either very efficient or HMMM? Dare I say. Rovings? cause lift where? Havent heard of a flow machine that can replicate the movement of water on the face of a ...

single,twin,tri

I thought what they now call a 2+1 set up ,fu box with fcs rail fins was called a tri fin set up in the early seventies. Single fin with two smaller fins either slightly forward of the center fin or even with the leading edge of the center fin or is that to be considered a fin and a half?

I know what you mean ever do a reentry with a 18' kayak? My kneeboards are my primary wave vehicle.
