I was all set to use one of those little bottles of contact cement then I noticed the label only said "water resistant" and I wondered if maybe environmental issues had needlessly compromised the integrity of yet another product. Back "in the day" we used contact cement on those ...

Repair of ripped Parkes Pad

Got a board with a tear in the Parkes Pad ( the black kind w/ bumpy texture) and was wondering what's best glue these days to bond that material back together. Pad is also starting to peel off deck, saw Joe's post on related topic but would rather not use a spray (Scotch 90) adhesive if there is a g...

Viper used to or still does sell a pair of neoprene inserts and recommended using Super Glue ( I'm told make sure you DON'T use Crazy Glue ). I put some neoprene pieces around the top inside edge of my old Scott flippers years ago w/ Super Glue and it's still holding.

Happy Birthday Mike! Don't worry, crossing the 50 line is nothin, I've found my Depends barely even show under my boardshorts.

Good for Ron ! Max do you know if he's going to increase the available width on ordered boards past his limit of 23'' (I think), and do single/double concaves ?

ksusa contest videos

Forgive my cyber - stupidity, I'm looking for those videos of the different heats from Friday morning through finals that was on the " recent topics" scroll. Now that it got bumped off that, I can't seem to find it.

UNBELIEVABLE ! I couldn't be more surprised if I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet !! Something must have happened last night and we've been transported to a parallel universe where kneeboarders rule the earth!
Congrats Steeno, good on ya brother !

Clan, Thanks for sharing that site, I've lost most of the weight I need to with much less scientific portion control and a whole lot of aerobic exercise. Way too many 20 mile rides on the stationary bike at night while watching kneeboard videos ( only acceptable after wife has fallen asleep on couch...

Hey Clan B, Max is right about trying a bunch of shapes/sizes. Maybe you could hook-up with some of the Kneelo Cove crew and do a couple"test drives". I went from 5'-7" to 5'-10" when I ordered my first Blast from Buddy. He had to talk me into that length because the shape and fi...

Hey Bumps, thanks for the encouragement , I think we're close to even on the time between sessions, at least during this season ( my busy time). Funny you mention the Total Gym, actually I have the cheap model but I've blocked it up off the floor, ordered a pair of the flat-faced paddling handles fr...

Paddling Mechanics

I've never been a strong paddler and now that I'm in my early fifties AND don't get in the water that often due to work, I tend to get really sore shoulders like an aggravated rotator cuff. Fooj recommended to me using something more akin to a swimmers stroke, it helped; then I bought a video from V...

I've had huge problems with leg cramps over the years, often strikes as I'm popping up to my knees. On bad days, when I've had too much coffee, too much sugar and not enough sleep it'll come on maybe only 30 minutes into a session and pretty much just shut me down. Aside from the obvious changes to ...

Good analysis Bud, I was shocked how hard they had to work-it to stay ahead of disaster.
That SUP wipe-out was just pure hideous ; looked like the inside edge of the lip ( and very nearly the board ) hit him right in the face, makes me want to curl into a fetal position everytime I watch it.

I'm amazed there has been this much interest in this topic. When I first posted it I figured everybody would be thinking "hey this is just a kneeboard basic, how come you ain't got it down". I concur with the small wave thing, all of the head plant dings on the deck of my old fish came fro...

Interesting to hear the techniques and nuances of barrel bailouts. Over the years I've keenly watched other riders, to improve my own cutbacks, off the lips, bottom turns ect., but this is something that for the most part takes place "behind the curtain", and the learning curve can be brut...
