I made my hotel reservation today. Pray for some tropical juice!!!
I'm bringing two boards, a Blast Aussie tri and a Dean Cleary quad. Consider them demo's for anyone who makes the trip.

Hey Tumak, When it comes to balsa, George is the man. Ive seen his boards in shops and in the water, I didn't know he shaped kneeboards. I won't attempt to shape, but my friend is a shaper and he's the one interested in doing a balsa kneeboard. I forwarded your post to him and he's going to give Geo...

I tried using my MRX fins with a gs trailer but I found the results dissapointing. I went back to my G5's and got back into the magic of an Aussie tri. Yesterday I picked up a pair of Occy's and am waiting for another swell to try them out. Any one brave enough to make a quad optional setup, keep re...

Like Willi, I'm new to kneeboarding (6mo.) but not to surfing. I bought a used Dean Cleary quad, the quest model, and started having fun on my first session. It's a great board that will cranks off a bottom turn, and rides well in the pocket. I haven't ridden a Parkes quad, so I can only use the DC ...

My new Blast Aussie tri arrived today, and there's a chest high swell running!! :D I'm going to ride it with the issued fins for a while till I get it wired and then put in my MRX carbons, with and without a small trailer. Recently, I saw a guy with a super small FCS trailer. Removed, this thing loo...

shaping balsa kneeboards
I've got a friend who shapes regular surfboards and we are interested in seeing what would be involved in having him shape some balsa kneeboards. Does anyone know where we could get some balsa board blanks and what some of the design issues would be? Is anybody riding any of the old balsa kneeboards...

Stephen, That's an excellent idea. Let me know if I can help to organize something. The Outer Banks can be epic in late August and September, but the closest airport is Norfolk and then its another 1.5 hour drive to Nags Head and another hour to the fabled Hatteras Light and the groins of Buxton. I ...
