I think it was Swaylocks where I saw a discussion implying(or outright shouting) that the way the volume is shaped makes a difference in the feel of the board. For instance, if you took the 40 Litre board and made it wider but thinner thickness it would catch and ride waves differently. Similar for ...

OB was funky. Waves in the 4-8' range with little organization but no wind. Saturday morning I lucked into a wedge the was hitting the inner bar. Barrels to be had after freefall drops. (My unoffical count was one coverup, one deep and long that closed on me and one long pocket ride in the dawn sunl...

I saw that Hawaiian Paipo Designs is working on a spoon. Anyone heard any more on this?
As far as I can tell the going rate on a new spoon is $2000. If I had that much extra cash I'd just take a month off work and build my own. But first I'd have to find a work space. City living has it's down side.

After the multi-page write up in the SF Chronical about this place and how great it is for the whole family and all, we decided to skip it. We are pushing our trip further to the middle of summer-ish, and would expect less crowds, but still not a very cultural experience. I've got my wife convinced ...

Wouldn't a smaller board with less float force you to stay on the steeper part of the wave. Typical pro footboarders stay in the steep part of the wave and can get away with a smaller board than I could. I tend to run our to the shoulder and loose all my speed. I would assume a similar situation wou...
