Hi, Jack. The Point- and most of Santa Cruz- had an unreal May-June: very unusual. Waves were uncrowded at times - since everyone was so surf-out. Surfed a 6 foot day in front of O'Neill's house (usually longboard territory) and caught one, four section wave all the way the beach next to The Hook. S...

Hey, Jack, how are you feeling? I'm doing well. Just asking since we were the pneumonia twins back in January.

Pneumonia vax is only $25 so I'm lining up soon. Can't afford to miss those winter swells like last year.

Spent the last 4 days surfing SoCal. KB'ed the Venice breakwater 2' to maybe 3' but three days were body surfing between Venice and Santa Monica. The amazing thing is that the water is so warm. 2-3 go outs each day- only reason I had to leave the water was due to being exhausted. Was invited to a Ro...

Thanx for the info.

My son-in-law surfs everyday so is on the forecasts. And my surf buddy just about only surfs Boneyards so he knows the 411.

Hi, Craig - Pretty flat but the water is nice and warm; 3/2 without booties works just fine. Give me a call - I'll look around for some waves tomorrow AM.

As a Duck Feet person, the Slashers have worked very well for me over the past 6-7 years since moving to 6'0"+ kneeboards where I use arm paddling as well as kicking. Prior to that, I wore Duck Feet since I pushed my KB in front of me and just kicked into waves. Duck Feet: L bare foot; XL with ...

One exercise that works for me as part of a work out:

5 lb. weights held vertically over your shoulders, behind you; then extend arms above head. You can also feel this in your core as well which is where you want to also build strength.

Also for Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay area: John Mel's shop, Freeline Design, rents out equipment. Besides rental boards, John has demo boards- that's where he puts his personal KBs when he makes himself a new KB. Wetsuits and swim fins also available.

wave pool trip

A cross country kneeriding tour sounds like a great expose to post here on KSUSA. Photos would be an added bonus.
