That was super fun, Chuck. Chuck left out the reason he SAW my good wave... He'd just snagged a 100 yard gem. He must have done 7 turns. Wave is super fickle, but so fun when you get a good one. (I dawn bombed it yesterday... FREEZING and was gutless mush. ) Took today off. Arms are spent.

 All good, Bob. (But notice I didn't say where in the 5 miles of beach we surfed.) Best thing about "the beach that will not be mentioned" is that it always takes care of itself. I'd say at least 80% of the waves go unridden even when it's packed.... And it's been pretty packed...

I actually switched to the Cove Pad because of Big Tony.
Had one of his boards and loved the pad. Especially super waxed. Gets almost tacky.
Got the same one with the Diamond Fly.

I went thinner. Love it. Thicker ones will retain a lot of water, but be more comfortable and give more cushion. I prefer less weight. Still plenty of cushion, and the thinner pads allows natural knee wells to form. That way, you start to get contact from knee through shin. I also found waxing the p...

I love the HI-1s on my small wave Tri.

Big. Ultra lite. Power flew when the waves have juice.

surfing has long had a tendency to print the legend and not the fact. Holy crap, Lefty. You nailed it. I often find it hard to listen to "Surfing Historians" becasue there is always so much hyperbole and self importance. In addition, surfing is so hard to articulate, most people sound rea...

Very true RW.

That being said, I like the idea of BLACKIES being a SUP wave.
Get those guys out of the other lineups.

I know the feeling. Every time I blow a wave or a turn and the boys raise an eyebrow I just shake my head and say "Pilot Error".
