With rates starting at $120 per couple in the off season (summer) I'm not going to jump on this one. It does look quite nice, but I'm a cheap husband.

I see there are mucho mas places listed on the web. I'm wondering if anyone can vouch for any of the places. Thankx

Forget Sayuilta, Puerto Escondido (and La Punta) Advice

Anyone have a suggestion of where to stay down there? I would like to try 4-6 puerto, and if my board body survives I could relax surfing la punta. Even sounds like the wife could do a little surfing down on the sandy inside of la punta. IM is fine if you don't want to completely reveal your secrets...

I find that if I grab my outside rail on a turn, even though I've been told not to, I can crank a pretty tight turn. I have done a few arm drag turns but they often result in pain, which for me is a great way to remind myself not to do that. Keep in mind this is all coming from a novice kneeboarder,...

Thank you K-man. The long drive was worth it. Did the other side ever come together? I got some good ones on the inside before it all kinda stopped. Saw Dr.S out there on his mat, but that was after it shut down so I didn't get to see him on any waves. I now have an outlet when OB is out of control ...

sayulita advice

Does anyone have any suggestions for sayulita, mexico at the end of March? It will be a w/ wife, 1 week vacation and although I'd like to spend the whole time in a tent on the beach or on the road chaising waves, we're looking for something alittle mellower and nicer than that. Clean and simple is r...

Okay, I guess I'm on the lookout for a camping pad since several people have warned me against using neopren. One thing that was mentioned to me is that neoprene will soak with water and add weight, but more important not dry easily and stink after awhile. Any way to tell in the store if a camping p...

Unless someone warns me not to, I'm going to use wetsuit glue to glue down some 6mm off the chest and back pannel of my old wetsuit. I'll report back with the results.

I'm afraid it will deteriate quickly and then I'll have a hard time removing what remains on the board.

Hey MOW, Am I correct? Are you getting into the shaping business? What are you charging for boards? I promise lots of feedback, maybe we can get a (older, slower weaker) Curren/Merrick connection going and start a revolution in surfboard design. I don't think I'm gonna be able to cut one myself but ...

Meandering

Such a funny word to bring such joy... from the National Hurricane Center THIS WOULD RESULT IN A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED BEYOND 3 DAYS AND IN FACT...IRENE COULD BEGIN MEANDERING. While visiting the land of 12 hour swell windows (NE coast, Long Island, NY), to hear that a hurricane will...

If you're reading this Mr. Scott Wessling, the reef didn't mean to hurt you. Please stay away from my new favorite spot. PLEASE! Maybe if you give me a year I'll have taken my hits and my mind will change and I'll be the fat kid, but for now leave it be!

There are a few pics in the Photo Gallery taken by JonManns of the MOW spoon in use. I wouldn't say it was "taken through it's paces" but at least they're modern shots. I got a chance to ride it this week and was interested/intimidated. First, I have 15 years surfing experience with only 2...

Great wave by wave synopsis Scott. I was out there but didn't see you ride any waves except from the back. Not what I would imagine would be a good spoon wave, but the fact that it worked at all says the design is usable in a variety of waves. Scott, sorry I missed you Saturday. I figured you got bu...

A few questions about the Paul Gross spoons: Is Paul Gross adding the "torsion bar?" It looks like the red board on the site may have a fin box. is that true? Can anyone sponsor me for $1500 plus shipping? just kidding... I'm starting to doubt my ability to shape and work out the flex on o...
