Is phenolic a good material for making fins?

If I am hearing you right, on a trifin setup find the center of the front of the front fins and the back of the rear fin, then from that center measure up the length of heel to knee.

While at the Sacred Craft show someone had a Paul Gross spoon. Beautiful board, But $2500.00. I would sure like to try a spoon sometime! Anyone out there in Socal with one that would let me "give it a go?"
