Hey Quadfin I may have missed your point. I can manage quite long freesurfs but rely on timing/cunning? rather than just exerting myself to get back out every time. i'll often stand on a sandbank waiting for a lull or to look for a rip. By contrast the younger/fitter crew just seem to hop back on an...

That's nice news.

Gutsy effort to get back into it so soon.

Quadfin and Halbs I doubt it's your technique but catching waves usually requires a momentary burst of exertion where you up your paddling rate and effort. I wouldn't dismiss the impact your injuries might have on your ability to apply that extra exertion early in your comebacks from an extended lay...

Hi Rippe 75 Lohis was full when we stayed in early October. Some surfers who stay there seem content to mostly surf Lohis and not take the boat trips. However i'd think twice about coming back to North Male if Sultans and Honkies were off limits. It would result in overcrowding at the remaining brea...

Cramps are a curious thing -they tend to come on later in a session so you think you would have been well stretched by then not to mention all that activity prior to getting in the water. It's not as if your hamstrings and calfs are doing much on a kneeboard say compared to running etc. I find elect...

Good stuff :)
Liked the music on the video of Cheyne on the same page.
Shots of Albert in Indo really convey clean crisp surfing - well done to photographer Brian.

Sorry Mike - maybe that's an Australian expression. I meant spots are allocated on the basis of the order entry forms and fees are received.

Good luck with the achilles Halbs - unfortunately contact sports are a good source of clues that you are getting older :(

Best wishes to our Spanish colleagues - sounds fantastic. Just a quick correction Russ, the Pa and Ma Bendall Memorial Contest kneeboard division is a first in best dressed basis - we just cap the numbers to levels similiar to the shortboard divisions in the same contest. Will try and post some date...

I think a lot of Aussies have had mishaps off rock platforms, but going off the edge like that certainly raises the bar! Glad to see you got through it.

Hi Scott

What a predicament!

If you have on old board maybe you could take that and leave it there - hopefully with a grom you have suitably impressed :)

I'm assuming this option would cost about half your current estimate.

If anyone is keen to help the Captain locate his sack and advise him on how far apart his knees should be then my considered advice is to proceed discretely via a PM.
