hey :) for me my first board circa 1974 was about 4 foot eight with a huge maltese cross on the bottom - I had to cover it with a towel when I went to the beach because people would point at it and laugh - no taste some people :) it had a fully belly bottom curve and I was in bliss whenever I was on...

Gah looking for Glen Perry and I stumbled on this old thread. Reminds me of I have a big box of old surfing worlds et tracks etc that I haven't looked through since the seventies/80's in regards to kneelo history...

Ha ha :) Dorje, I didn't realise that was you! Now there is a voice from the "past". Thankyou for your kind comment on my work. I've just had 5 consecutive days of being in the water up the coast and it's like a bath. The fact that it is crappy and pissing on shore doesn't really matter ;)...

I got 24 surfs in last year due to ripping out a shoulder tendon..... this year so far I have had two, so my average per week is already up by a zillion percent :)

thanks a lot Headwax. Any thoughts on entry rocker? The blank that I have (Broken longboard :P) probably won't let me have a big rocker so anything to counter that? Hya I'd be thinking about the bottom contours and taking everything from there Veed nose will keep the stringer rocker reasonably straight but still give you a higher rail line - good for cutting through chop and stopping rail catch. And giving you a clean entry into the wave/ Same with a veed tail ...
