Most of the 360's I saw were quite functional. It might be hard to tell from pics and vid, but the shoulders were very soft and kind of fat. I could barely stay on a few waves. Guys who could, would use a 360 as a way to pad a score after a little tube or top turn. Not gonna give you a score by them...

Thanks Don. Totally agree we've had some great high tide years (far better than low tide), its just this year the swell may not cooperate and the sand bars could be under water. if the judges are told to announce scores, they will from time to time. Nice to sit on the beach and get an idea of whats ...

KSUSA TITLES questions

1) Any chance we can get the scores annouced during heats this year? (like they do in the ASP, ISA, NSSA, ect) Allows spectators to be more invested and for the surfers in the heat to know whats going on, where they stand, and surf accordingly. 2) There is a 6.4ft High Tide both mornings around 10am...

I know Bruce has been experimenting with Asyms for awhile now, but after watching this video I wonder in an asym would make a very functional longer knee board. I could see an over 7'2" Asym surfing a lot looser. http://youtu.be/SJpEHK6VjcA Love this kids whole outlook... Probably speaks to any...

Be a cool thing to have if you could fit it in a BodyBoard bag (no airline fees) Sprocky made a few Blackball Beaters back in the 90's. 4'11" x 3" made out of BodyBoard material. We put those rubber tipped O'Fishal fins in and the Lifeguards gave us their blessing. Didn't work in waves ove...

To suggest that extra foam on the stringer will do that is completely illogical. I don't need to provide proof, it is simply a matter of logic and a basic design principle...this is quantifiable, unlike video evidence which would be very pilot dependent & subjective. I like to deal in facts. Yo...

Kneeboards arent boats... you might be combinding principles of planning hulls and displacement hulls. Kneeboards don't float. Most guys sit up to their stomachs or even their chests when they sit om their boards. Water Ski's don't float either. If I'm water skiing behind Big Fred's boat and he drop...

MR- That 6'2" you've been killing it on aint so thin. (2 7/8" on the stringer... nicely foiled) 8)

JohnS- 100%, a 5'8" can be a gun and a 6'4" can be a small wave weapon depending on Rocker and foil.

There should be a header in the design forums. "Ride what works for you, in your opinion. .. but don't expect anyone to agree with you." All I can say is my son Chris keeps telling me "go smaller Dad". Less volume and shorter. Well, then the question becomes "How's he ...

The "speed down the line" bit just doesn't stand up under scrutiny as being true, as I've already covered. Of course it does. Unless you are literally surfing perfect waves, your power source (the waves energy) will fluctuate (flat spots, reforms, waves jacking before they double up, sect...

Hey Red,
How wide is that board? How thick? How many fins?
And how far would you place the fins up?
