So glad Hart has released his grip design. I was fortunate to receive a prototype set on my flashpoint. I asked bruce to indicate where he thought the board should be ridden, expecting small marks or maybe a diagram. I received a beautiful piece of design instead. The unique thing about North East U...

I use force fin pros every winter. the pro is a stiffer blade. they take some getting used to, and the thrust is more about sustained speed than acceleration. I use them to motor about, hold against currents ect. they're not good for sprinting. paddling out I use my arms to sprint under oncoming set...

beeline, you once called my experimenting with little trailers on Blast quad 'popsicle' fins. I always liked that name. dorje, I'm truly a grom, only been kneeing 4 years. I consider 35 years riding standup part of my path to enlightenment. Coming from a thruster environment to kneeboarding, quads s...

is it cavitation or ventilation? surfboards work in the boundary layer of air and water and skegs don't move THAT fast (think impeller on centrifugal pump). try to suck 2000gpm out of a 1000gpm hydrant and you'll HEAR cavitation at work. I've heard skegs sing but not like that. with the multitude of...

UNDENIABLE TRUTH # 1 a surfboard leaves its mark on the wave UNDENIABLE TRUTH # 2 the wave dies on the shore THEREFORE all surfers are GUILTY!! R.I.P. Johnny Cochran, we could use a creative defense here but the Honorable Red is presiding and Headwax leads the defense in the trial of Hart, McCray an...

well a lot of standups ride fish flat, for sure maybe has something to do with the width of the board and there are a lot of average surfers struggling on pro shapes, but that's a marketing and image problem for them to solve and its real nice to have such rotational range so you can dance your boar...

the water 'reflected' off the leading fins straight edge (inside- high pressure area) contributes/exagerates the low pressure area on the trailing fins curved surface (outside contour) leading to a faster turn ... but this doesn't take into account the fact that moving through stationary water is d...
