north

Stunning day today a couple hundred miles north of SF. I chose a low tide spot and waited for the afternoon go out. Traded roping head high + hollow waves with another kneelo for 30 minutes and we must have made it look too fun... we were joined by 10 others. Great waves, super sunny, glassy 'til da...

OB surf...

Willy, Same here in SF. I hit it at 5:30 - 7:30 AM. With the low tide being a minus no one wanted to put up with the current. Left me solo on a peak for a couple early morning hours. Granted there were 4 people who were out in total. Bob and I are on it tomorrow... smaller but should be fun... it is...

I saw the action yesterday and alterted SFK that we should find a peak down the beach 1/10th the crowd. It wasn't hard to do. Today I dawn patrolled the photo spot and had 30 minutes of the glory to myself. Air 39, water 50, 12 waves before the rest of the world wakes up... PRICELESS (sorry for the ...

Mike,

No secret on the location... it's our local beach break. The hour paddle was comprised of 15 to get outside and 45 keeping on the bar and chasing waves.

Makes me appreciate points and reefs that's for sure!

Good wrap-up by SFK. Long paddle out back to a semi-frequent peak only to have things go to !@#$# by the time we reached our destination. Solid hour of paddling at 90%. This year has been frustrating to say the least. The times I DO paddle out it seems a good dose of dramamine is in order - wobbly s...

Yes, it's true, David shaped a few boards while here and those you spotted in the rack are probably Tom Fillio's!

Merry Christmas to all!

Grom Fund: With great ideas come complexity. Yes, we have a fundraising effort to assist in getting a grom(s) over to the Phillip Island Comp this year. This is the goal. The fact is we may not meet the goal and will therefore use the funds for other grom related expenses in the future. There is a l...

My window for surfing will be tight... I'm at the mercy of my wife as we came down to spend time with the Robertsons and their newborn.

Of course if someone can promise me double overhead surf I'm sure the wives will understand...

Cheers,

Don

Thanks to Willy for the fun Gathering...

Kudos to Willy for putting this event together. Jack, Scott MacDonald, Willy Kelly, Scott Wessling and I got some of the fading windswell on Saturday. Friday served up bigger surf but Wessling and I only got the hall pass for Saturday. We intended to check back after lunch for a second session but t...
