I thinking maybe a "new board certificate'' so the winner would not just end up with a stock board that may or may not suit him/her, but could order a custom from the shaper of choice, and the KSUSA treasurer would handle the payment for board and shipping. Some of us, due to job or family issu...

The diet tonic water (avoid the sugar) always works great, especially in conjunction w/ a couple E-Mergency packets and lots of water. I'm 55 now, but I've always had a tendency to get radical leg cramps. Mostly when hopping up to knees or first bottom turn, sometimes very early in session depending...

"quad fin compression" discussion

Just before the site went down I had been reading a posting in one of the forum categories about what had been dubbed ''quad fin compression''. The author was recounting a design discussion with David Parkes about quad placement and the interaction of the forward fins with the rears. I don't remembe...

I second that, Bud's Y2K's are outstanding boards. I still gotta try the Controller fin set-up with it, some of the Cove Crew have said it really makes that board go ballistic

I can give a hearty endorsement of Casey's Cove Pads ( get the kung foo grip its the bomb) While we're talking pads has anyone tried the tail block pads by Squid Grip ? They look interesting with that outside raised edge to keep legs in place and push against while turning but it seems like it would...

Thanks for the info Terrance. I'll explore all those different sites and try to steer clear of the stuff that's going to cause harm. Been using Noxema spf 70 from Costco but it makes ya look mighty white and pale, but maybe with the higher SPF values, that's just the way of it. I'll have to give the...

I think i tried those once, didn't really give em a fair shake cause I was so paranoid about scratching them on the reef and not being able to return them. I recall they felt a bit wide on the tail of the board, but in all fairness I was probably using Vipers or my old Scotts so the transition was f...
