magic board

I had a 6'1" that was the bigger brother of your 5'9" many years ago... http://ksusa.org/Forum/album_showpage.php?pic_id=16258 I couldn't manage to get the thruster set up to work (I'm just not a 3-fin kind of guy) but once I sunk some extra plugs into it and made it into a quad it instant...

Board in Bali

Your timing is incredible! I've been looking around this season trying to find a good home for my 5'10" x 23" Flashpoint. It's an FCS quad baby swallow tail. I'm 220 lbs now, so it's getting too small for me. I know you said you were looking for a 5'7" like you ride at home, but I can...

Glad you survived!

That's horrible! I'm stunned! Tom is such a good driver, too. He is the man when it comes to road tripping in Java. Such a good guide. But it's crazy over there. Femur fractures bleed all to easily, but to have two at one time, wow! I'm so glad that you're still with us there, Tom. Our thoughts are ...

nusa dua in wet season.

How long are you going to be here/there? I'm in Nusa Dua right now and the accomodations that I have are very nice. Perfect launch site for the wet season. Heck, it's pretty good even in the dry season, which I've done from here for 5 years now. If your rent on a monthly basis, it's 4-5 million Rp p...

Ideas for shipping boards TO Hawaii?

Any ideas on how to ship a cheap board in a cheap way from California to Hawaii without actually flying there myself?

Online quotes for FedEx say $445. USPS web site says it can't be done. I need suggestions.

Discounts with a business license are not available to me.

CPAP

Hi Joel! Sorry to hear about your awful surprise, but man, I'm glad you're still with us! Get better, big guy! I hope this means we all get to surf with you more. I wrote a big ol' note just now, but lost it to the ethernet. I'll keep this one short or post it in parts, as SFK and Bad Knees covered ...

If there's surf, I'll commit!
Wanna carpool, Tim? I'll be in my old place with a new contract in Aliso by then.

enforcement

No one likes localism, but that's what's it's going to take. If one person spews off it's a rant, if multiple people call someone out on their bad behavior that person thinks twice about it or at least paddles away with their tail between their legs. Get a buddy or two and enjoy watching their rides...

Pediatric docs.

I know it sounds bizarre, if you must have this surgery, consider having it done by a pediatric surgeon. I'm a PEDS traveling nurse, but when I was a staff nurse at Texas Children's Hospital I had the honor to work with some great slicers and dicers. I guess that because I had the inside track, one ...

Bummer.

Sorry to hear that, Mark. My advice: Get it done and get in the pool ASAP to keep in condition. Low impact exercise just as soon as the seam is sealed. What does your doc say about surfing with a brace by January?

bali suggestions

Buddy's suggestions is a good one, but five days is a pretty narrow window to gamble on booking G-land in advance. Unless you take the fast boat both ways, it's an overnight trip there and a day long trip back, cutting your surf time to 3 full days, max. The fast boat, at US$250 round trip, adds alm...
