thanks for the drum on this one steen. Be good if they could search out younger hot doggers like the simpsons and bert for the profile and limelight, just a bit more sexy than dp and neil. Im sure a throng of babes on the beach autograph hunting these guys and seeking others at pi would create just...

board specific elitism is lame Guess I'm no purist either. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks in diff'rent conditions, I guess. [Was actually searching this site for the movie Back to the Beach when I stumbled across this thread.] Call me a snake-in-the-grass if you wish but nowadays, with my di...

Heaps cheaper than Oakleys. Oakley - Water Jackets - are expensive due to quality, not just name. Still, after purchasing a less expensive brand first, I then went out and tried the Oakley's. Oakley's weighed less and vision was brighter. But , they didn't suit my shape face and looked mucho *bling...

Re: Glare and Squinty Eyes

Nike Maxsight sport-tinted contact lenses by Bausch & Lomb are no longer available. Dunno why. Have come across two other websites selling sport contact lenses. Note though, that sport does not specifically mean surf. And besides, tinted sport contacts will not prevent a pterygium forming in the...

Pterygium

Blu Eye eyewear have a water sports model called Squid. Similar to the Oakleys you mention, the Squid lenses have air vents but importantly are non-polarized. On order for less $$$. Also came across Kurtis surf goggles.

Tracks mag Oct 2010 packs a 40th anniversary first issue reprint. The reprint reviews said Greenough film including grainy pic which looks to be him grabbing rail. Also read that gaberdine and nylon were in fashion and a new board cost around 50-something dollars ($2 extra for optional detachable fi...

Just me(?) but lens got sucked out early first session in average waves. Will give SeaSpecs or Silverfish a go. Thanks. Dunno 'bout the - polarise - bit for surfers, though. We need to see the water's surface - not see through it.

Maybe try adhesive strap bandaging. Don't forget to shave first or there could be tears later. Also, worth a look: http://www.ossur.com.

Slightly off topic, but, here goes. I've just rez-ed a ding on an old kneeboard. This is, the original glass finish is the thinnest matte job I've ever come across while the rez has a shiny finish. (UV cure Rez was applied with fingers in non-powdered surgical-type gloves.) How to get rid of the shi...

Maybe, do some pop-ups on the sand a few times before hitting the water. Hi all, I'm new to kneeboarding. Sometimes I pop-up well above the kneepads. (Am arm paddling with sternum positioned just forward of two pad setup.) On a couple of occassions the waves were small and weak. Instinctive compensa...
