Head out to the I'Lan side of the island and start looking. There's all kinds of set ups over there and with the new HWY it makes the drive way better.
Also, check Wannasurf.com as they have some good info too.

ED, don't sweat it buddy. You can surf all you want as that's what I plan to do if I get knocked out of my heat. I figure, it's the Pier NOT The COVE so if i'm no longer in the contest the contest is no longer there so we get all the waves we want. Just keep surfing :) Now that sounds like something...

Thanks for the reply and I know of Cloud 9, but it is pretty far south from where I will be. It sounds like I will be closer to the Baler area or Zambales area depending on how the roads are.

Heading to the Philippines the first week of November in the Luzon Island area. Anyone surf there and if so what are your thoughts?

Tico crowds are thick when the surf is small. Once things get overhead in Playa Grande most of them stay over in Tamarindo.

Either way you shouldn't have any problems getting waves.
